I have been very impressed with the DJI Mavic Pro and as a first time drone owner I'll try and break down its features based on how they impacted my decision. I purchased the bundle which came with the additional accessories and the shoulder bag. My overall rating is based on the quality of the drone because the accessories, in my opinion, will mean different things to different people. The Drone: So my primary qualification for getting a drone was portability. I wanted something I could take with me camping and on family vacations which would give some interesting options beyond a handheld camera. The DJI Mavic Pro certainly fits that bill. When folded it's surprising how compact it is. The Mavic Pro also feels very sturdy and not cheaply made at all. I have put about an hour of total flight time onto the drone with no issues. It is very easy to setup and fly. Each of the 3 modes (standard, sport, & tripod) work exactly as advertised and fit different purposes. In standard mode I can hit about 24 mph, sport will do a little above 40mph, and tripod mode offers a nice slow, stable flight experience. On a fully charged battery, depending on use, I can fly for about 25 minutes before I get too worried about hitting the critical battery status. Controller & App The DJI Mavic Pro's controller is much more compact than a Phantom or Inspire controller. In addition to the DJI GO 4 app makes it very easy to change settings on the fly. It displays a lot of flight data and can even play it back later. It also does a great job of tracking flight information. Accessories: 1. Car Charger - This accessory will come in super handy for trips. Being able to charge as you go is a big plus. 2. Charging Hub - If you have more than one battery, which I would suggest and since the bundle comes with 3 batteries, this is a great accessory. It doesn't charge all the batteries at once, but does allow you to connect them all so you don't have to worry about monitoring your batteries and swamping them out. 3. Charging Adapter - This is a neat little accessory which allows you to turn your drone's batteries into mobile chargers. Not necessary for the drone experience, but very cool and I can see it coming in handy traveling. 4. Shoulder Bag - It has good quality construction, but doesn't offer a lot of protection. Also, because it's very compact you can really only fit the drone with a battery in it, the controller, and two additional batteries in the outside mesh pouches. Fitting additional blades or a fourth battery will be a challenge. Nanuk 920-MAV4 Waterproof Hard Case with Foam Insert for DJI Mavic - Yellow - Having a hard case, in my opinion, is a must for travel. The shoulder bag is great for going out and about, but I'd never use it for air travel or when I'm loading up the car for a camping trip. I'm not a fan of the "pluck and pick" cases so these laser cut ones are more attractive to me.

(Edited note: the video displayed here is *ABSURDLY-recompressed. The video from the drone is 40 billion times better!!) ...of all of the things I've purchased while on ambien, this is the *SINGLE* thing I've never, *EVER* had a regret about. First off: the Mavic itself is a tank. Very well-made, folds down into a TEENY package, fits into a bag that CAN BE ATTACHED TO A BELT!!!, and is easy to fly. The drone is *VERY* stable in wind -- possibly owing to the lower surface area compared to other, larger drones -- the range is *ASTOUNDING* (the first day I had it, I flew it in a high-interference area a little over a mile away and never had a hiccup in the video feed from the drone. I did a flight over a nearby lake (hopefully the video will upload to show) where I went a little over 2.5 miles away before I had an issue with signal (because I had a dumb and took it behind a hill). The quality of the video this little guy takes is... *WOW*. It's stable as can be, VERY high quality, and just utterly gorgeous. The sample is downscaled from the native 4K to 1080P, but you can still see that it's pretty stunning. You *WILL* need a decent speed phone or tablet to use the realtime video. I had a Galaxy Tab A that just couldn't keep up with the feed and it kept glitching out. When flying strictly in FPV mode -- as I tend to do -- it really isn't enough. My Galaxy S7 phone doesn't have any problems at all, though. Even at 2 miles or so, the latency of the controls is nearly imperceptible. The cons? It's expensive, a little bit of a hassle to repair (I do all of my own repairs, so I had to figure this out on my own), and... uh... that's it, really. I whole-heartedly suggest getting the DJI refresh. the Mavic is *NOT* water-resistant, so getting it damp? Yeah, it'll pretty much croak like an iPhone. And DJI will know, so you'd be better off buying a new one at that point, as the repairs would be In. Sane. Edit - 01/03/2018 - Nearly one full year later... is it still worth it? OH MY GOD YES. Of all of the things ambien has 'bought for me', this is the only one that I have never regretted. I have had a few crashes, and he's been to the DJI store in Santa Ana once (when I couldn't fix it myself), but it was all *MY* fault. The one time that I lost connection with the drone -- in the middle of Arizona along Route 66 -- I thought I'd lost it. ...but! Since I had the return to home settings right, he came back. ...after a little unexplained wandering, but my $1,000 toy came home, so that's all that really matters.

This is the Iphone of Quad Copters. It is a solid product, compact, ease of use, and an absolute joy to fly. I believe the key for me is it's portability, because of it's foldable design, and the ease of use. When on the road, I notice something of interest that would look great with areal photography, it accomplished simply - Remove the Mavic from the case, remove the lens protection, unfold the legs, place on ground, power it on, attach phone to controller, open Go App, power on controller, and take off. It's truly simple, and a whole different league when it comes to portability compared to its Phantom siblings, and other products offered by other companies. Even the controller is tiny, and also folds. The controller provides tons of telemetry data. It is very comfortable to hold, and to control the this flying technological masterpiece. Mavic is constructed with a nice hard plastic shell, which feels nice in the hands and visually appealing to me. It seems like it is hard enough to protect the internals in case of certain mishaps. The camera though small, is very powerful. It produces gorgeous 4k video, and pictures at 12MP. It offers video at C4k 24fps, 4K 30fps, 2.7k 30fp, FHD 1080 up to 96fps, and HD up to 120 FPS. There are other cameras on it, but they are sensors to keep the Mavic stable and safe during flight. Anyone with the desire can fly the Mavic easily, but for new users, I would recommend taking some time to read the manual especially the topics covering safety, and flying. Also watch some videos covering flying, and topics that helps familiarize you to the Mavic. Also no matter how tempted - DO NOT FLY INDOORS. This is the mistake that many beginners and experienced pilots make. I promise you the chances of crashing indoors is extremely high, and most likely to occur. Take it outside in an open area, fly it at a minimum 30 feet, and if near other structures, take it several at least 10 feet above those. Have lot's of fun flying!

This is my first drone. Nothing to compare to but these are my first impressions: 1. Very stable indoor and outdoor. Excel in hovering. Can handle outdoor mid winds but it alerts when detect over spec wind speeds. 2. Learning curve is really fast: take off, up, down, left, right, landing. Joystick type control. Nothing complicated since drone will stay on the same place if no command is send. 3. Camera stabilization works well. I was streaming to Facebook and a person called me not believing that camera was flying. 4. Would like battery to last longer (But who does not?). I am getting between 20-23 minutes per battery. 5. Since by law you should not fly right above anyone, optical zoom will be helpful. 2X-5X will be desirable. But, at this price point, i could not find optical zooming. 6. Do no crash up!. Body looks strong but if you crash up, propellers will bend down and most likely damage the body, I learned the hard way! 7. Get insurance!!. I already crashed once and used one of the replacement 8. Expect around 1 month for repairs if you live on the Tri-state Area (NY-NJ-CT) since drone is send to CA for repairs (as today). DJI paid carrier both ways. 9. If you are not a professional photographer, you will be please with camera output. Although, camera angle is not as wide as Phantom 4 pro or other drones and does not support H.265: Just to be aware. 10. Since you don't get 4k from DJ GO 4 app, quality of the recording will be appreciated when uploading video on PC.It will look much much better after you get the real recording from microSD. 11. Get a Hard Case!!. I personally recommend Nanuk 920-MAV7 Waterproof Hard Case with Foam Insert for DJI Mavic - Graphite . If you are like me (not a very careful person) this is really recommended.

I'm not a professional photographer, videographer or drone flyer. This is actually only my second drone. My first one was of the 'selfie drone' variety and turned out to be kind of sub-par...however, it really gave me the bug for drone flying. With that first one, I kept running into limitations with range, quality and control. So when I ended up hitting a tree and dropping it into a pool I started trying to figure out what drone I really wanted. When it comes to quality (in every respect) and portability (something I really needed) it was easy to see that the Mavic is the gold standard. I. LOVE. THIS. DRONE. It's expensive, yes. But the build quality is fantastic (the controller, the Mavic itself...even the carrying bag). It really feels like something substantial...absolutely not a toy. My first drone was white plastic and kind of 'bubbly'. This drone looks like a shark...my kids call it the 'bad guy drone'. Even the app is great...it's got more settings than I know what to do with. And if the app is not to your liking...you can check out some of the many 3rd party apps available for flying. It's so easy to fly this thing! It hovers rock solid and even in windy conditions when it does wobble a little, the gimbal does a great job of keeping that out of your videos. There have been times that I've played back a video and thought that playback had frozen because the image was so still prior to the drone moving. If you can afford it, I highly recommend getting the combo. A single battery can last 20-25 minutes which is really a long time, but it's great to have spares to pop in. And the 4 battery charger is great for charging all the batteries quickly (it does not charge them simultaneously, it does it one battery at a time starting with whichever one has the most charge). And the bag is very nice...it's a rubbery/leather like material. Has room for the Mavic, the controller, two extra batteries, and a couple other small compartments for other items. If you've bothered to read this whole review...you probably already want this thing. And assuming you've got the money for it...do it!

The Mavic Pro itself is a great drone, but after a year of use I have to give this combo one star for the following reasons: 1) Batteries: the three batteries of the Fly More combo died after 10 months. Apparently if you don't use them for a couple month (in my case I didn't fly the drone during winter) the batteries will drain and get damaged. Charging them and trying to fly the drone will result in an error message and the drone will refuse to fly. I can understand that batteries become less efficient over time and after many charge cycles but in my case the batteries have ben charge less than 20 times. There are many posts on the DJI forum about this issue. 2) Warranty: batteries have a 6 months warranty, while the drone has a 1 year warranty. I guess DJI are not really confident in the quality of their batteries... I should have read the fine prints... 3) DJI Customer support: one of the worst experience I had with customer support. After answering many questions and providing the required pictures of the error message and batteries, the support would just tell me that the best course of action is for me to buy new batteries. I guess I'm just supposed to spend 3 x $89 for batteries that will die shortly after the 6 months warranty... and just to make sure I understand the warranty policy the support sent me screenshots of their sales policy... three times. At this time I'm still going back and forth with the DJI support, I have little hopes for a battery replacement. So at the end the drone might be great, but the batteries definitely have a quality issue and the DJI support only goal seems to have me spend more money on DJI batteries. Overall very disappointing.

DJI's customer service is notoriously horrible. Fortunately, this Mavic is running well, so, it's not been an issue on this unit (I've had numerous problems with two different P3s and an OSMO). DJI seems to want to become a world-class company like Apple or Sony, but draconian firmware updates and mildly buggy apps show that DJI is still far from that goal. The notification that accompanies the firmware updates suggest that they are willing to shut your equipment down, or limit its capabilities unless you submit to their updates. Your very expensive flying camera can be disabled at DJI's whim, and who knows what they are doing with the plethora of data they collect every time you use your UAV. This aircraft is well-made, but the software that controls it will let you down about 1 time in 7 flights, by my estimate. When it works, it works really well, but when it's whinging about compass calibration, or sniveling for an app update when you're far from an internet connection, you're in for a bad time. The forward sensors are problematic, they cause jittery flight and endless alarms. The bottom sensors work pretty well and allow for some soft landings. Sometimes precision landings are very close, and sometimes they are off by 10-20 feet. That's the problem with this ship...you simply can't count on it. If fortune is smiling on you, the system will work well. But you just don't know. Sometimes, the DJI GO 4 app will just shut down, mid-flight. iOS app or Android, doesn't matter, they both crash. Disable cache, or not, the app will crash more than occasionally. Your butt will pucker until you get it running again. Most people fly farther than they can control the craft by sight alone...when the GO 4 app crashes, you're basically blinded. Most of the time, you can just let the bird just hang in the sky until you reestablish a link with the app, but this could also be unsafe. I keep the craft in sight, but honestly, when it's more than a few hundred feet away, it's tough to tell which direction it's facing by sight alone. You do little maneuvers to figure it out, then you can come home. It would be great if they could just fix the buggy GO 4 app! I keep the tablets I use for the Mavic clear of anything but the flight apps. Plenty of memory, no internet, no games, comms, or other bs, just DJI stuff...and GO 4 still shuts down in flight. Understand these things about the Mavic -- Oftentimes the Mavic is exhilarating...occasionally, it's infuriating. Don't count on it. Be careful. It can be dangerous, even when you're careful...but it's especially dangerous if you're careless. No matter how good a pilot you are, the machine can screw up, don't take chances with other peoples' safety. Before you go out to fly...like, *moments before* you go out to fly...get everything running in your house/office or wherever you have a strong internet connection...get everything running, make sure all the components are up-to-date, and actually hover a foot off the floor. Then land, take it all apart, go to where you're going to fly, and pray that some update isn't required before you actually get airborne again. It can also help you make some really pretty pictures... Good luck, fly well!

Short response...I absolutely love the drone. Small and compact for carry anywhere in a very small backpack. The included shoulder bag is nice but frankly given that I carry several other (although very small) accessories it does not work for me. For me, the best solution is a small back pack. To protect the drone and batteries I purchased two small purpose specific semi-hard cases for my four batteries...two batteries in each case. I also have a small semi-hard shell case for the drone (with props on). In addition, I purchased a semi-hard shell case for the controller. This way I can throw them in any backpack and they are protected. This allows me to also throw in my DSLR camera and a few lenses if I want to carry it as well. If you are looking at the Mavic, you have probably already looked at the numerous videos posted on YouTube so I am not going to go through the specs or performance. The Mavic is easy to fly and gets great video and pictures. For what most people do with drone video and pictures the pictures are absolutely fantastic. Best video and pictures of any drone out there...NO. If you want absolute "top of the line video" you are going to pay thousands more. If you want better video without paying thousands more then you could go with the DJI Phantom Pro or Pro +, a Yuneec, or a few others. There are plenty of YouTube comparisons. Either of these will set you back a few hundred more but will give you much better video output if that is what you are seeking. To the average user the difference in video quality is probably not worth the investment...except for empty bragging rights. I went through the exact same process of evaluation and for me the conclusion was simple...Mavic is the best value for me (easy carry-convenience, great video/pictures, great aerial performance, and competitive price). This does not mean there are not some other great drones out there...just sharing my process for why I bought the Mavic and I am still very happy with my purchase. When you get deeper into how you use your drone you can then put more money into something you consider as a better value for you. Down the road the drones will get better and better but that will always be the case. My bottom line...I have the funds to buy anything I want but I bought something with great aerial performance and video/photo output to meet my current needs. (JUST TO BE CLEAR, I purchased a few cheap drones on which I learned how to fly and not risk costing me hundreds in investment if I crashed. In that case I really didn't care about the on-board camera or even if it had one...I just wanted something that was low loss risk on which I could practice. I crashed a lot but got better.)
