I have used it on the beach, in the city and in the Bahamas. If I get 150m away and a height of more them 40m then it says signal lost. Then I click to return home so then when its close then I can retake control. Its a good first Drone to get but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, rather spend the extra money and get a bigger and newer edition. DJI is a great brand but if you lose signal then its a high chance your going to lose your drone ... show more

I wouldn't count on 6 mile range unless you are in perfect conditions. In a city with all the wifi signals etc... radio wave pollution, you can count on maybe 1 mile or 2 miles at best. I have not tested outside of a town yet, I am hoping for a little more range. It flies great in wind and the camera is awesome!!! WORTH THE MONEY just for that! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I had NOT had great luck with drones in the past. I was very hesitant to buy this but pulled the trigger when I saw all the great reviews on YouTube and a great deal more positive reviews on FB Groups such as DJI for Newbies.. I finally opened my Christmas gift after letting it sit for 1 week. I was petrified that I would break it on my 1st flight.. IT WAS SO EASY!!! After one HOUR of buzzing around in an open field, I felt like a professional. The mini is VERY USER Friendly! It flies itself!! YOU LITERALLY WOULD HAVE TO CRASH IT into an object yourself that's how easy to fly this is. This thing can hover in place for 30 minutes! There have been times when I've lost connections for whatever reason. I simply hit the RTH button and in a couple of minutes, I hear my drone buzzing overhead and on it's way down for landing!! Best for beginners, like me. If you can afford it! (Not being mean, im simply saying its a good beginner drone for people whole are willing to spend hundreds of dollars, not looking for a toy drone as a present) that being said, it is well worth the money so long its not priced at $700 or so, as a fly more combo. The fly more combo should be $500. Anyways, good battery life!!!! And easy for first time enthusiasts (or potential enthusiasts) like me! The only reason i gave 3/5 for ease of use is because amazon doesnt specify. 1. Its easy to setup. 2. It is easy to dly (IMO) 3. Its not easy as far as photography and cinematography! Thats why its a 4 out of 5. But thats my opion. Read the other reviews to get the big picture! ... show more
