Features

  • If you own a table saw, you probably have come across a situation or two where you need to make smaller cuts or make cross cuts. You may also have had the need to make repetitive cuts of the same length. Making small cuts, cross cuts and repetitive length cuts is where table saw crosscut sleds excel. Crosscut sleds help stabilize the work piece and are very accurate since they are essentially calibrated to your saw during the sled building process.
  • Some time ago we noticed a lot of companies had UHMW bars available for purchase. While we as a woodworking company know exactly what they are used for, many novice or non-woodworkers do not. Thats when we decided to create this package with pre-cut UHMW bars, pre-cut aluminum track, a knob and bolt and an easy to understand how to guide booklet so you can create your very own, custom crosscut sled to fit your table saw!
  • UHMW bars are most commonly used as runners for crosscut sleds since they dont produce as much friction as wood does. Another advantage is that UHMW wont expand or contract like wood does during drastic weather changes. Each bar is approximately 3/4 x 3/8 which fits most standard table saw slots. UHMW bars are also slick and wont leave any residue, dust or shavings behind like wooden bars tend to do.
  • The tracks that are included in this kit are made from solid extruded aluminum and are Made in the USA. Each track is cut to length for the perfect sub-fence on the crosscut sled. The included knob and bolt is for making a simple stop block which when finished, can slide the length of either track along the sub-fence. The stop block will allow you to make repetitive cuts without having to constantly move and measure the fence distance each time you make a cut.
  • We have also included a full color and detailed how to guide book to help you with the crosscut sled building process. Each kit comes with 2 each 19 long by 3/4 by 3/8 UHMW bars, 2 each 12 long mini tracks, 1 each knob, 1 each 1/4 by 20 tpi bolt and a how to build your own crosscut sled guide book. Make your crosscut sled to the size you want or need for your table saw and your specific cutting needs. Please Note, the bars do NOT FIT RYOBI table saw track slots. MADE IN USA

  • Good for first sled
Style: 17" Kit w/ Un-drilled UHMW Bars
If you’ve never built a sled before, this kit is a good start. I built my first with it and it included all the pieces needed, with exception of the wood. Instructions were pretty good.

  • Worked OK - came with zero instructions as promised
Style: 19" Kit w/ Predrilled UHMW Bars
As others have said, this item arrived to me with zero instructions. That's fine, as I can go out and find many instructional videos about how to build a sled. I did have to clean out my tracks on my table saw. Even after doing a really good cleaning, the fit is tight. I had to use sandpaper to lessen the plastic parts. Still does not slide as smoothly as it should. ... show more

  • Good price, good product
Style: 19" Kit w/ Un-drilled UHMW Bars
After recently purchasing a portable Ridgid 10 inch table saw, I wanted a table saw sled, mostly to provide a degree of safety when working with small pieces. I was amazed at the $$$. So, I chose a kit that was inexpensive and still had the simple features I wanted. It was a pleasant surprise to find that the instructions were loaded with helpful information and were clear and easy to follow. I read through them several times and referred to them many more times during the build. The glitch that occurred was totally my fault, so there is a lesson there. When attaching the high density plastic runners to the wood base, as per the instructions, I located and pre-drilled holes, but made the holes too small for the screws so that when I installed the screws, the plastic expanded, making the strips too wide for the slots in the table. Trying to fix that issue I made it worse by trying to trim them a bit. Now, too small. A project from a few years ago left me with a piece of “Starboard” plastic (also available from Amazon) which is used in marine applications. I was able to cut and fit some new runners and the rest of the build went well. After some touch up sanding and a good coat of wax on the saw table and the bottom of the sled, it glides with no effort. I call that success. ... show more

  • Just right for making a sled
Style: 19" Kit w/ Un-drilled UHMW Bars
all parts are accurately described and quality is excellent. Peachtree sells quality products in my experience.

  • Probably not worth it
Style: 19" Kit w/ Predrilled UHMW Bars
Right out of the box, the runners fit only one of the two miter slots on my 10” craftsman saw. I suppose that’s on Craftsman. I’m only using one runner for my sled—unfortunately the miter slot I’m using was was the one that the bar didn’t fit in. So I sanded the sides of bar with 320 grit palm sander, and also cleaned out the miter slots better ( this saw is new to me), and I made it fit. Use lots of dimes. Let the CA glue dry for 20 minutes while you drink a beer. Don’t screw very tight just snug. Put some minwax in the slot. But you can make runners from wood. And you can buy 12 knobs for $10 on Amazon, etc etc. ... show more

  • Very nice!
Style: 19" Kit w/ Un-drilled UHMW Bars
I made mine over the weekend... Haven't used it for an actual project yet, but no doubt it will come in handy. I like that it's just the hardware, so it allows me to build it to the size that I'm comfortable with. This is my first time using a crosscut sled, and one unexpected extra advantage (aside from obviously giving me better control over the piece I'm cutting) I noticed is that there is far less sawdust thrown out of the top of the tablesaw simply because there's literally no room for it to come out the top. Nice surprise! ... show more

  • For the DIYer
Style: 19" Kit w/ Un-drilled UHMW Bars
Got the package a day late courtesy of USPS, but it is exactly as described. I read a lot of reviews complaining about having to drill your own holes and having to provide your own wood. Give me a break. Read descriptions thoroughly and all available reviews even more thoroughly. That said, the slides fit my craftsman table saw and the hardware works. The bolt for the thumb screw is a little cheesy, but I wasn't going to use it anyway. This kit is a great price for the guy who is wanting to build his own sled but doesn't want it to have wooden slides. Bottom line, buy this kit, watch a couple different YouTube videos, and build your own sled. Quit whining because you want to pay $30 for a $200 pre-made sled, that's not what this is. ... show more
