I bought this one and another brand to do a comparison of one area. They both gave the same result, fortunately. This was easy to use, and my results came back very quickly, even with a holiday weekend in between. The report also included a complete list of all possible molds and information about each one. The test kit included the name of a person, Michael, who I assumed would be handling it once received. Surprisingly he called to let me know to look for an email with the results and left a number for me to call with any questions.

I paid to 2 day ship the kit back. They promised me a call that day! Well they called at 530(when anyone who can REaD the results was gone till monday. I was in middle of crisis with mold &BOH involvement. The test showed stachy.. (black mold) . Told with no explanation all weekend. The culture waited all the next week. And 5 p.m Friday results and it doesnt show any of the stachy... but aperillus. Noone to ask why the same area showed one and then not on culture. So i waited a 2nd weekend scared! And the monday their explanation made no sense. Board of health inspector said these tests dont hold up and are not accurate. I would NEVER recommend or buy this. Especially if your in a crisis like we were

After water damage in our house, we were concerned about mold developing in our bathroom. This was spurred on by our daughter who had developed a persistent cough for over a month that left her doctor baffled as to the cause. It occurred to us that perhaps it was an environmental cause rather than bacteria. So we bought this mold kit to test whether firstly, there was mold in the house and secondly, whether it was toxic. The instructions were easy to follow. Included in the box were three tests, a set of gloves and a mask. I mailed the tests for next day delivery. The swabs were delivered the following morning to the lab and I received a comprehensive report that afternoon. Excellent product and incredible service that provided solid results and peace of mind. I highly recommend this product and company.

Easy to use, the instructions were very clear and all of the required equipment was included. It was as easy as open the package, gear up, sample, fill out paperwork, send back to the lab for analysis. Our test came with one swab and two tape strips. We used one tape on our moldy ceiling, one tape on our discolored belongings and then the swab to collect varies areas within our attic. This test showed us mold that was not detected by a previous air spore trap sample. This test showed us that we had numerous different dangerous genus of mold in high concentrations. This test will tell you the genus and quantity of mold but it will not tell you the specific species in order to ID if your species produces toxins. -Air sample-collects mold spores from air that have been released from mold, test will show genus and quantity. -Swab/Tape sample-collects samples of actual mold, test will show genus and quantity. HERTSMI-collects dust from entire household, test will analyze the DNA of all mold present identify if any of the 5 most common mold are present. Test will ID the genus and species, which is key to determine if mycotoxins are being produced. ERMI-This test does everything the HERTSMI does, but the test will ID 36 mold species instead.

The test itself is easy to apply. It comes with detailed but clear instructions. Turnaround time for the basic test is very quick, just a couple of days. If you want a sample cultured that will take a week extra, but can be worth the wait depending on your situation. The lab sends the results as PDF files attached to an e-mail, so be sure to write your e-mail clearly on the form when you return the samples. They also phone you when they send the e-mail, as a heads up. Very pleasant on the phone. And you have the option of calling the lab back and speaking with a mold specialist about the results of your test. Excellent service.
