This kit isn't the same assembly style as a book nook. It's much more diy and many of the pieces are bare, and require cutting images and coverings out of paper sheets, then gluing them onto the solid surfaces. I like it best with the colors and imaging already painted on the pieces. The paper looks less realistic. The solid pieces/walls are thick and reasonably sturdy for a miniature scene. Even the dust cover walls are thicker than average kits. I'm disappointed that the chalkboard is just a paper image, like most of the flooring and walls, but I didn't expect that the whole front of the file cabinet on the left side is paper. So are the backpacks and plants. There's no connection points on the walls/floor, so it's all glue dependent, which adds on to the build time. Even with strong glue, I don't have complete confidence that the whole structure will endure. The music box and lights are a nice touch and you must supply 2 AAA batteries for the lighting unit. The instructions are 18 pages, with the first 5 being directives and an inventory list. Some of the assembly steps are clearer than others, but it's all in full color and appears to be real photos. The tools included are ruler, tweezers, and sanding file, but you must provide your own glue. I recommend a strong brand, like E-6000, and not white crafting glue. This kit is best for 12 years and over.

This is a kit that you make a small sushi restaurant. This is not one of those "Lego" type of miniature kit where everything is ready for you to put together, but one that you cut off various materials and glue them together. I'm still working on this kit but this is a lot of fun, since the time and effort you put into work makes a difference. The box is rather small, and it only opens on the side, which makes it difficult to find what you need. I took everything out and put them into a box that another miniature kit came in, one that opens at the top, letting me see the whole kit to look for what I need. The instruction booklet is small but full of pictures and easy to follow, and pretty much all wooden pieces are pre-cut so you don't need to worry about breaking them while punching them out of a board or sanding burrs. The instruction booklet says the kit comes with a tube of glue but mine didn't come with one. I normally use my own glue so no problem there. Also this kit does not come with any tools so you'll need to use your own scissors, ruler or cutter. So far it's going well, and I'll update as I keep working on it. ---Update 6/17/2025 It's been a lot of fun putting this kit together. I noticed A10 (black wooden board x3) were 2mm too small to make a shelf with A7. I skipped the carp-shaped flag, since it's a decoration only used on Children's Day (May 5th) to wish for thriving. I changed some details such as toppings on noodle. Overall it was a fun kit.

This one required a bit more work and was more of a challenge as you had to build more stuff (i.e. the desks, books, etc.) but the end result is so beautiful. And goes well with my little town I’m crafting

This is our second mini dollhouse and it is our project as a summer family activity. The details did grab the attention of my three kids and we all enjoyed participating in construction. The level of difficulty is high so be prepared to take your time gluing very little pieces and getting frustrated when they fall apart. For the most part the materials including the included glue are good quality, the instructions are clear.

The actual kit itself is charming and offers a more hands-on DIY experience than some prefab book nook-style sets. You’ll be doing a lot of paper cutting and gluing, which adds to the time and effort required, but if you enjoy detailed crafting, it can be a satisfying project. The components are fairly sturdy—especially the base pieces and dust cover panels—but a lot of the detail elements like the chalkboard, file cabinet, and even some furniture are just printed paper glued onto surfaces, which feels a bit underwhelming up close. However, the biggest issues I had were with how long it took to arrive and the presentation of its packaging. When it finally showed up (almost a month), it was badly crushed. The outer packaging is busy, generic and not at all gift-worthy with no effort put into presentation. Definitely not something I’d feel good about giving someone as-is. That aside, the included music box and lights are a nice bonus, and once assembled, the piece does look quite nice. Just be prepared to invest some time, supply your own strong glue, and don't expect much from the unboxing experience. Better suited for personal projects than gifting.
