This isn’t my first book nook, but it is by far the most detailed one. Some of the steps, especially in the beginning, take forever to do and are sometimes nonsensical (for example, you make some Manila folders that you stuff either actual printed papers and then glue shut). This kit additionally does not come with some of the creature comforts other kits come with - there are no stickers, there is no glue, printed materials are not perforated, and most annoyingly everything needs to be glued together and there often aren’t any pegs to align things to begin with. All of that said though, if you bring the patience and the glue & scissors you need, you’ll end up with a beautiful build that you can be proud of!

I just finished this project. I stated it 2 days ago. Loved making the individual books. The directions are easy to follow, the pieces pop out nicely. The inside is beautiful BUT the music box stopped working. I gave it a test turn and it worked. I'm familiar with music boxes so I was very careful installing it. I taped up the light wires so they wouldn't interfere. Every thing was installed, lights came on and the music box didn't work. If you have to pay extra for the music box, I wouldn't do.
