WOW!! This book is THICK and DEEP! I ordered another book safe before I decided to get this one instead. The other one didn’t have much room and kept getting stuck where the handle wouldn’t turn and would get stuck on whatever money or whatever I had on the bottom. It was so annoying. I decided on this one because it was deep and I knew it would hold what I needed without getting stuck. Its ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I like that it was bigger then I pictured. I set the combination and locked it. Once the original code is switched it can not be changed and no keys.

This looks realistic from a few feet away and is made of decent materials. The locking mechanism works well and is simple to set and reset. This was the biggest fake book safe I could find for a reasonable price and it’s good but I wish there were bigger ones and maybe some with internal compartments or shelves. ... show more

    • Sturdy book safe, love that you can set your own code.
I got this for my 8 yr. old. I was looking for an upgrade from the piggy bank. Its great for paper money or other precious items you want to keep secure from your siblings. The inner door is heavy sturdy metal. It was easy to set the code the first time with the included directions. I suggest only setting it once because when I tried to change it to a different code and I could not do it and the lock would no longer work. The customer service was amazing and they sent me a replacement book safe right away. So even though the directions say that you can set a new three digit number code after the initial selection, I don't recommend it. Just pick one. Its a cool way for kids/teens to keep and hide their important stuff. ... show more

Unfortunately, it's so thick and the white "pages" are so plastic-y, it doesn't resemble a book. I feel like with an item like this, the cover is make or break. And the cover doesnt say "book" to me. It feels like the DVD boxset of a New York documentary, or something. But it is very spacious. Inside is lined with velvet. The metal box inside feels sturdy. All in all, I don't regret buying it, because it was cheap. But I'd say go get one that looks more like a book unless you need the extra thick interior.
