Contrary to what the description says, the working headlights are NOT included. From what I can tell, they used to be part of this product but were removed sometime in the past couple of years. The Amazon product description still includes this, and it looks like the the carton image and image on the manual still have the headlights. The carton also mentions the headlights: "Twin Bed w/ Lights". But the manual contents do not mention the headlights. The Delta Children website product description also does not mention any working lights. So it seems that they used to be part of the product but were removed. ... show more

It wasn't difficult to put together, but it's time consuming. The peices are shoved together (not screwed in, no nice little pop either to indicate a correct fit) and they aren't really sturdy. The bed sits on the floor (on a box spring if you have one) there is no frame. The instructions seem to indicate that there are lights on the front -- no LIGHTS came in the box and there's no hole in the plastic to install lights!? Unless they press on (which is kind of rediculous for a kid) this seems like false advertisement. In my humble opinion, it's not worth the pricetag. The decals are not form fitted to the plastic so they will bubble no matter how well you place them. Also the stickers themselves are not labelled so labelling them on the instructions was a mute point -- kind of stupid. The finished product is not terrible so don't get me wrong -- it's still cool. Just not our favorite purchase. I expected better based on the description. How it is advertised as 'easily converts' from toddler to twin is just a blatent lie. ... show more

The bed itself is great, well built, very sturdy but two things keeping it from 5 stars is the stickers. Placing the stickers is AWFUL. Even if you use sticker adhesive or modge podge the stickers will still bubble up with a humid room. I wish the decals were already made on the bed somehow. Secondly, we bought a twin mattress and there is still a gap in the bed, I have to stuff one side with blankets as my son always likes to sleep anywhere but the middle. We do not have a box spring under the mattress as we did not want him falling out of it as we would rather him sleep on the floor essentially. Oh and lastly I never received the night light headlights that are supposed to come with it. 3 out of 5 stars. If I could I would return and get a different bed but my son loves lightening McQueen so much that we are stuck with it ... show more

I got this bed for my 4 year old grandson and his words not mine wow that's way cool so I say he loves his bed the only problem I say I have will be where will I put another one for my other grandson when the time comes for his own race car bed

My son has had this bed for about 6 months now so I thought I should post my thoughts at this point. If I had to do it over, I would not buy this bed. I would probably buy the less expensive one that looks more like a bed w a car painted on it. - 1 of the pieces was slightly damaged but to be fair, we didn't ask for a replacement. - it was very tedious putting this together. - the stickers really are a pain to put on. There's a learning curve, so if you buy it, put the stickers on the side that won't be seen as much first. Those things didn't bother me. Here's what I absolutely hate. - the spoiler breaks easily if any weight is put on the end. While bending over to make the bed, I used the spoiler to help lean me down. I'm 5'7" and weighed about 165 pounds. The sticker on the top of the spoiler split and look terrible. We had only owned this for 2 months when this happened. - lots of bubbles appeared in all of the stickers within 24 hours of putting it together. Even though we used tools to smooth out bubbles and were pretty diligent, it seemed like a bunch of ridges appeared the next day. - that reminds me, the places on which you put the stickers are curvy which means it's a real pain to put those darn stickers on. Putting those stickers on will test your relationship with whomever is helping you (it's definitely a 2 person job). - the stickers for the headlights don't fit correctly. That annoyed me from day 1. - he's had it 6 months and like most 3 year olds will do, pealed off parts of the stickers. Which means when I sell it, I will take a hit if I leave on the messy stickers or take them all off which will also take a lot of time. I honestly wish I hadn't put the stickers on at all. Take a look at the photos to see my issues. But, all that said, my son absolutely loves the bed and couldn't care less about my issues with the stickers (although for many nights he had to talk to me about the broken spoiler before he would go to sleep) which is why I gave it 2 stars. I also suggest putting a box spring mattress under the twin mattress so it's easier for mom and dad and kiddo too. ... show more
