Great cup for daycare since the straw can be covered to prevent other kids germs from touching it :) My daughter is almost 2 and can open and close the straw part on her own with no issue. Occasionally we will find it leaks but only when the straw somehow fills with water or if we add ice and the cold makes the water go up the straw. I've been trying out different sippy cups as I try to wean my toddler off of the soft spout type of cups. This cup holds enough liquid for her, but not too much (like many water bottles). It is also fairly leakproof, if you fill it correctly--for me, it works best if I fill the cup, then twist on the lid *while the straw is flipped up*. If I try to do it while the straw is in the closed position, liquid pools inside the compartment that holds the straw. FYI, the straw on this is wider than other straws, so your kid can drink quite a bit of fluid quickly. I wish the cup was insulated. Overall, good. I will buy again. ... show more

Adorable cups and seem durable, but they are not leakproof. My granddaughter turned it upside down and spilled half the cup on herself. Before you ask, yes it was put together correctly.
