  • Great for younger kids!
Platform: Nintendo Wii U Edition: Standard
Bought this set for my two boys (6 and 4) for Christmas. I was worried that it would be a little too advanced for them to play, but they were obsessed with Star Wars. So glad that we purchased it! We have all enjoyed playing it very much. This is the first infinity set that we have owned, and I am slightly disappointed that we cannot use the older version play sets on the 3.0, but you can still use the individual characters for the "toy box" play. I didn't think the "toy box" was all that great, but my kids love building their toy boxes! I think the infinity line is probably geared more towards the younger crowd, maybe 4-12ish, but it's been a great family game for us. I will definitely be purchasing more play sets in the future. ... show more

  • Great Gaming Experience for Wii U
Platform: Nintendo Wii U Edition: Standard
Disney Infinity 3.0 for Wii U is incredible. The packs are a bit confusing, but the overall gaming experience is great. The adventure packs, like the Lego series of games, follows the path of the movies the pack is related to. The confusing part is the trying to figure out which pack and do what. That is the one complaint about the system. Disney does a horrible job explain how the kits work. The instructions at come with the starter kit are surprisingly helpful. In a nutshell, if you want to play a campaign type game you need a play set pack. You can them add on figures (lets you play that figure) or add enhancement packs that give you additional vehicles and or abilities. All of which are placed on the sensor pad that comes with the starter kit. If you have a character figure, but not the play set, you can use that figure in the Toy Box. The toy box is an area of the game where you can basically make whatever kind of world you want. The plus side of the toy box you can use characters from other sets such as Disney's Inside Out with say, Star Wars. The game is great and challenging enough that an adult will like it, but not so difficult that a kid can't figure it out. ... show more

  • What a cool game
Platform: Nintendo Wii U Edition: Standard
So much to do so little time! The single player is lots of fun and runs very well on the WII U. The toybox is so incredibly deep I almost don't know where to start. Great product especially for Star Wars fans...oh and kids too I guess.

  • No issue so far; Star Wars crazy kids are loving it
Platform: Nintendo Wii U Edition: Standard
My kids are Star Wars crazy and they were thrilled to get this for Christmas. They've been thoroughly enjoying it. I also got the Star Wars Amazon-exclusive bundle so they have quite a number of players to choose from. So far Asoka Tano is the favorite. I've played some with them and it didn't take long for me, a life-long gamer, to pick up how to use it. One thing that constantly annoys me about the game however is that I have to control my player's point-of-view when I am moving. It would be nice once moving if it would automatically swing the point-of-view to the direction my character is moving. If I am trying to move in other than a straight line I have to adjust my movements and point-of-view at the same time. Other than that though, I found the controls easy to use, especially when flying through space (my favorite part). We haven't run into any glitches yet. It does take a long time for scene changes to load. That doesn't seem to be limited to this game however. I have seen this behavior with other Wii U games as well. Nintendo's outdated use of optical drives is to blame here IMHO. There should be a way to cache the whole game internally with how cheap NAND is these days. If your kids are Star Wars fans they will love it and you might even like playing along too. ... show more

  • Infinity 3.0 for Wii U is too glitchy
Platform: Nintendo Wii U Edition: Standard
Before you buy this check online for "Infinity 3.0 bugs and glitches". Infinity support acknowledged the Wii U version is not as stable as other platforms. We own Infinity 1-3 and never ran into problems with Infinity 1 or 2. The game has frozen our Wii U system on multiple occasions with loud screeching sounds that I was concerned would damage our TV speakers. Weird glitches have occurred which forced us to start over from the very beginning and lose hours of game progress. I contacted Infinity support, they acknowledged there are glitches and recommended we avoid any missions that caused the game to freeze and that a software patch may be available in the future. We have a fairly new Wii U and have not had issues with any other games. Perhaps the Wii U console is under powered to handle a complex game like this or maybe Disney crammed too much content onto the disc making it unstable. The glitches can corrupt your saved file and since you can only have one saved file per playset your only option is to start over from the very beginning. Not only will you lose hours of game progress but there is no guarantee the glitches will not happen again after you start over. My daughter received this as a birthday gift and has lost interest in the game because of the glitches. For how much this game costs plus the additional costs for other characters and playsets you might want to hold off until the bugs are fixed. Bottom line is Disney should have done a better job on quality control instead of relying on loyal paying customers to be their free beta testers. I learned a valuable lesson and will never buy another Disney game on release day. Instead I will wait 6+ months until they fix the bugs and the price drop will be a added bonus. ... show more
