  • Get it and buy a Wii if ur thinking about it!
Platform For Display: Nintendo Wii U Edition: 2-Pack Bundle
This game is great, I love the live crowd. The guitars look allot better no more colorful buttons making it look like a toy. The online is an infinite expansion, unlimited songs new songs should be added weekly. That's no drums but I was never good at them anyway. We got the 2 pack and we already had a mic to sing the vocals everyone's having a blast on the Wii u. Definitely a game to buy or even a reason to get a Wii u to play it on. Since its the cheaper of the 3 systems. Feels like a brand new game bruise of the remake of the guitar buttons, will take a little while to get used to the two rows of buttons on the guitar now. Audience is awesome love the realism and the band let's you know when your letting them down. Game is awesome I can see myself playing this for hours with friends and my wife. She loves it to. Also the game came with a $10 coupon for hero bucks to use. Cool ... show more

  • It ain't a must have but it's still a good game
Platform For Display: Nintendo Wii U Edition: 2-Pack Bundle
I was a bit reluctant to buy this game due to some negative reviews I've seen, but honestly my wife and I are very happy with our buy. Sure GHTV has some playlists that you'll find less challenging or boring specially if, like me, you don't like nowaday's pop music. That leaves you only one channel to play with, but honestly I've been enjoying the rock/metal channel. The difficulty's a bit weird to get used to. Because you have some songs like those of Blink 182, Good Charlotte or Weezer that are easy to play even at hard, then the playlist switch to some Lamb of God or Megadeth and then the notes pass you by at such a speed that you can't keep up while the joints in your hand cry in pain. I guess that'll come with the experience. The guitar is about the same quality compared to the old guitar. But then again, it's a plastic guitar, there's not much you can do to give it a real feel. I would buy it again if I had to. ... show more

The game is awesome. The new 3 top 3 bottom buttons adds a lot of variety to the songs and difficulty ranges greatly. The music fits the notes too. But the guitar sucks. After we started playing regularly for a few weeks the strum bar on the guitar stopped working. It just doesn't register sometimes. It's difficult to find just the guitar to buy. ... show more

  • Some possible deal breaker flaws but all in all, very solid.
Platform For Display: Nintendo Wii U Edition: 2-Pack Bundle
Love it! Split the price with my sister, but it was on sale, so got the 2 guitar bundle for a nice steal during the holiday seasons. Game itself took some time getting used to. The new guitar had me cringing for some time, but now that ive played it extensively, I love the new guitar. Definitaly breathes a new life feeling into the series and opens up for so many different complicated mixes, instead of just 2 diff colors, etc. The tv mode (confusing as live in offline and tv is online) is fantastic, playing an endless stream of songs based off a theme that switches ever half hr to an hr or so. Commercial breaks included as funny as that is. I dont love the way star power or hero power works in this game, especially online mode, where it is limited, and I still wish you could have somgs to purchase for offline play instead of having to spend plays which start off easy to get but become more difficult, or hope that you land the song in the stream of themed music. Im not sure if its just the wii u version, but when playing with 2 guitars, once in a rare while, the usb receiver will become overloaded (only 2nd player) and desync. A quick unplug of the receiver fixes this but during play its quite annoying as you could imagine. This could be a deal breaker for some I suppose. Also the wii u version tends to have the somewhat occasional quick and slight lag. Doesnt effect play too much, and honsetly it hasnt happened to me in awhile but it used to happen every so often. There could be more songs for both offline and online, and many of the big songs of bands that you may really want, just arent there. Avenged sevenfold for example only seems to have live versions of their songs. A few songs are also cut down in length, as pointed out by a few of my friends. All in all though, fantastic game. 3 will always be my favorite, but this one is very good after a long hiatus and the new guitar is fantastic ... show more

  • Don't waste your money.
Platform For Display: Nintendo Wii U Edition: 2-Pack Bundle
I've had this game for a while now. The game play is fun and there's a pretty good music selection, but the guitar calibration is complete garbage. I've worked with their technical support people for over an hour spanning three different interactions, I've followed instructions on public forums, and even tried some wacky ideas of my own but the calibration still is complete garbage. 100% of the time when I start a new game, I have to recalibrate the guitars with both video and audio. But it almost never stays calibrated for more than 30 minutes, a video will skip or stutter, and then the calibration is bad again and has to be redone. It's very, very frustrating. ... show more
