This thing works great... actually gets hotter than I expected. I save dryer lint and cardboard egg cartons and then stuff the lint into the holes. Then I melt parafin and old candles... and pour some over the lint. Last, I cut them into individual units and my husband starts our wood stove fires with them. It's reusing the lint and egg cartons and we get way more fire starters for the cost of the parafin than buying boxes of fire starters. ... show more

It heats like it should but the actual cooking part is small. I use it for candle wax and have to be very careful not to bump my melting pot. The melting pot doesn't sit perfect on it because it's as big as the burner.
