    • Very cool, but motor whining ruins the experience

Overall the build quality of the wooden case is fantastic. Looks great, the various sounds are interesting, but I stick to the classic Wit click (which sounds great). I love that it's USB rechargable as well! My only problem is that there is significant noise coming from the motor which really ruins the experience. Probably not as big of an issue if you are playing music, but I use it in a very silent room while working and I can't help but focus on the motor noise and not the clicking. Update: motor whining has gotten worse over the past couple of months since I've owned it. Extremely frustrated now :( ... show more

This is my first metronome, and I like it. Easy to use and loud enough for me (I'm hearing impaired). My only issue is this was advertised as having a wood case. It's plastic. Very attractive plastic, but plastic nonetheless.

    • Why the motor driven wand?
The tones and range of options are decent. The volume adjustment is great. The adjustable bell is an excellent feature. The wand is, to me, a total fail. It is irrelevant (hopefully you're not staring at it so who cares what it's doing), the weight is unadorned, and the motor is noisy (there is a constant whirring sound). If you've had mechanical metronomes you'll need to unlearn stopping it by grabbing the wand because the wand is not part of the mechanism, it's an embellishment. Cute but, to me, gimmicky and unprofessional. Dump the wand and wand motor and I'd keep it. As is, it's a return. ... show more

This sounds great and is easy to use. I've tried to use digital metronomes on my phone, but it is more difficult to set up and doesn't sound as true as this does. Because it is easy to use, I am using it more often when I practice. I didn't realize how off my timing was on some songs. The advantage this has over a wind-up one is the volume control.     • This is a beautiful item and the quality is excellent.

What a nice modern update to the classic metronome! The wood is beautiful and the choice of sounds are interesting. I love that the cover attaches with a magnet instead of the sliding latch found on old metronome designs.
