Very slim! Package is less than 1/2 inch high. One battery was already inserted in the unit with a plastic pull tab to activate the connection. AND THEY PROVIDE A SECOND BATTERY IN A PLASTIC BAG stuck neatly inside the box. The box is intended to hold the unit when not in use. Really good quality box with intelligent design. The scale is ultra simple in design, but the low profile means that you need to be careful about the load drooping off the scale to the surface below which will cause an inaccurate reading. A simple flat plate will do fine since the scale has the tare function to compensate for the weight of the plate. On first glance, this is a really nicely designed product. I only wish the product description mentioned the second battery. I also purchased a 4 pack of replacement batteries via Amazon (FROM ANOTHER VENDOR) for the 4 scales I bought. Beyond the extra cost outlay, the box the batteries were shipped in was around 3x4x6 inches to hold a 1/8 inch thick card of batteries measuring about 2x3 inches. WHAT A WASTE! Shame on the vendor and on Amazon for such extravagance. The vendor of the scales was far more modest in packaging. Upon registering the product with the seller for warranty purposes, they present a page which explains the product and how to use it and includes a number of FAQs. Probably the simplicity in scale design causes some user problems because the push buttons are imbedded in the scale platform. Pushing a button too hard or off-center causes the scale to try to weigh the "push". Good discussion in the FAQ how to avoid this problem. For the price, this scale appears to be a steal compared to other kitchen scales. I'm using scales for a very successful community meal packaging event where precision weighing the 6 meal bags before sealing is a key success factor for downstream preparation of the food by the recipients. We had been using $20 kitchen scales for years. These scales may be their replacements! We typically package about 16,000 bags per event (100,000 meals of dried Mac & Cheese ingredients ready to cook). As with all things these days, time will tell. They may fall apart in 6 months - or maybe not. They do seem well made.

This scale is small and very lightweight but does the job just fine. The small size and weight make it easy to tuck away when not in use. I've used it with several different recipes in both grams and ounces. One of the great things about using a scale is that you never need to do conversions, which saves a lot of time when making recipes from other countries.

I got this particular scale for two reasons. One is that is has a high capacity of 22 lbs. My current scale does not go that high, and I’ve run into the limit once or twice. The second reason is that unlike other models, this scale has an elevated surface above the LCD, so it won’t be covered when weighing something that’s larger than the surface. It’s a problem that I’ve encountered with my current flat scale. My first reaction was that it was small… Well, smaller than my current scale. My second reaction was that, while I wasn’t sure about this when ordering because I thought it might be bulky, it is not, and would be easy to find a place to keep it. The scale is packed very well, with foam strips between the weighing surface and the scale to prevent it from movement and being damaged in transit. There is very little non-recyclable material in the packaging. The LCD is nice and bright. The instruction card is pretty small, though it does explain usage, which is pretty obvious. One thing that is not mentioned in the instructions is that to turn off the scale, you have hold the power button for a few seconds. If you don’t use the scale it will turn off automatically after 2 minutes. There is a hold button, shared with the units button. The instructions don’t describe this button, but in the reviews I read that it will keep the scale on for 5 minutes of non-use instead of 2 minutes. This is helpful if you’re retrieving or cutting ingredients, or want the tare value to remain for a longer period of time. I happened to have a 50g weight for calibration on another scale I have. I checked the scale and in fact it read 50 grams in most locations on the surface. If I moved the weight to a corner or edge, if it did vary, it never went below 49g or above 51g, within the tolerance of the unit. I’m confident the weight will be accurate. So far I am very pleased with this scale, and plan to stop using the larger Polder scale I’ve been using until now.

I decided to buy this scale to be a little more conscious about how much I am eating. It is your standard food scale which is what I wanted. It is light and thin so it can be stored anywhere. It did come with a spare battery which was a bonus. I have been using this item for about 2 months and have noticed that when you need to zero out the scale, give it a few second and it will do it automatically. I thought my button was broken at first but it was just me being impatient. I would buy this again because I have liked it so far. I took off one star just because it does feel a little fragile. For example, it I drop it, I am not too sure it will turn on again. I wish I didn’t have to take off a full star, I would rather it be 4.5 starts just because from the price, I was not expecting this to be super sturdy either.

I purchased this scale to be more mindful of my meals and smoothies. I am getting used to the scale by checking the codes with the labels on my items. Seems like I will have to take time and storing everything manually. The scale doesn’t allow decimals that I know of so some things may not be precise. Still a great purchase and looking forward to using for life!

I manage 2 restaurants and use these in all of them (just purchased my 4th), the higher capacity than the standard 11 pounds is a key selling point for me. My only complaint is that there are separate unit sections for ml and g, which is the same measurement in weight, and the same could be said for oz and fl oz. When you are weighing, it is the same thing. It would be nicer if you didn't have to go through redundant sections when selecting the unit of measurement you want.
