At first I wasn't sure about having two pieces for my digital kitchen scale, but was willing to give it a try. It came well packaged, very giftable in a nice box. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it came with the batteries needed to run, which are easy to install once you figure it out how to take off the battery compartment cover. Once set up, it is really a great concept - the LCD display is easy to read, and since it is detached, you can put it wherever is convenient. I found this a real step up from my old kitchen scale that had the readout on the scale - if I had a big bowl like my mixing bowl on it , it was much harder to read as the display was tiny and the bowl hung over the display. This is amazingly easy to read, so measuring baking ingredients into the large bowl in grams is effortless. It does all the things my old scale did well, but with this improvement. So far, so good - I've only used it a few weeks, but it seems accurate as my recipes are still coming out the same. I hope this review has been helpful.

I'm giving this four stars because it was kinda difficult to set up and pair. But when I figured it out it started working great. You can weigh by pounds or kg, and it has a timer on it. I'm still learning from it, I'm trying to get it figured out little by little.

Thisis a great digital scale for your kitchen. The display is on a seperate little bok that fits on the counter or can be hung, no more struggling to read the weight on a scale that is covered by the item being weighed. The batteries are included, you only have to install them in the actual scale because the batteries in the digital reader were already installed. It has a charging cable included for the digital reader. The instructions were easy to follow to change the weight. I had recently gotten a grinder for wheat berries and it suggested a scale for correct weight to prevent waste, so I got this one specifically due to the reader being seperate. I tested it on a few different items that had the weight listed and it was right on for the weight. I have heard these give wrong weight readings when the batteries are going out, so I have taken them out when not in use. I am really impressed with this scale and I definately recommend it.

I ordered this scale because it looked like a great option for a scale with a remote display that would be perfect for weighing bulky items that would cover the screen on a standard scale. The build quality is good. I was very happy when first opening the box, but upon first trying to use it I was dissappointed with how complex it is to operate. The buttons/controls are not intuitive and are overly complex for use as a scale. It always wants to default to timer mode instead of scale mode, and it's a pain to get it to switch back to scale mode (it won't switch back if the wireless connection drops). The instructions are printed very small, and it's hard to see which icon it's telling you to press for each step, so they aren't perfectly helpful either. When you do figure out what buttons to press, it's a case of "short press for action A, long press for action B, longer press for action C" for each of the buttons... and all of these actions also depend on what mode it is in (scale vs timer), and some actions require pressing multiple buttons at once for a specified time, then another button. It's all WAY more complicated than it needs to be for a scale or a timer. Oh.. and I almost forgot, it has a "count" mode too which could be handy in a commercial setting, but not really for standard kitchen use... and it has its own set of button commands to use. The scale seems accurate from the factory, but the instructions do include a section on how to calibrate it(this is good), but it requires calibration blocks of various weights that are not included and not listed in the instructions(this is bad). I assume it'll show which wight to us on the display during calibration, but at that point I'm affraid it'll mess up the calibration if I don't already have the right weight on hand. Once connected, and set to correct mode, and set to correct unit, and properly zeroed, the scale does work quite well. The display is easy to read. It's great for bulky items. The display can stand on the counter, or be mounted on the wall. Everything is easy to clean and build from good quality materials. If you want a kitchen timer, and occasionally want to use it as a scale, and can memorize multiple button sequences for use this will be a good option for you. If you just want a nice scale with a remote display, I suggest shopping around first.

This is a wonderful scale that weighs in various ways. Not only does it measure food in grams or ounces but it weighs my packages in pounds and ounces. Instead of using my clumsy bathroom scale to weigh packages to send, I now have a kitchen scale that does everything. The digital readout had the two batteries installed and the other 4 batteries came with the package and were easy to install in the scale. It also comes with about port to plug in. The instruction booklet made it very easy to set up and switch between the different weighing options. This is a wonderful addition to my household and a great value. If you are looking for a multi-use scale, this is the one to buy.
