Our 10-year-old plush mattress was starting to give my husband backaches, so I decided to give this firm mattress try. I was afraid it would be too hard after sleeping on a plush one, but am pleasantly surprised. It's more of a medium firmness, with good back support. The mattress came rolled up in a box, and I needed the help of the hauler who removed our old mattress to set it up. You have to be careful in opening the plastic as it expands quickly. There's a tool that helps you do that, but it's easy to overlook in the packaging. Even though the mattress expands immediately to almost full size, give it the day or so the manufacturer recommends to expand completely, or you may wind up with lumps. Also, there's a very slight odor that dissipates over a day, but nothing unpleasant or chemical. I noticed that there is no warranty information either in the ad or the materials that came with the mattress. But for the money, it's a good buy, even if you have to replace it in a few years. ... show more

I have used both old school spring and newer pure foam mattresses. Both have their places but this hybrid is a nice idea. Yes it has springs but they are dampened by the foam and are actually not bothersome. This bed is more plush than id say firm if you are say sitting or moving on it. But it is firm if you just lay on it, not sure how else to explain. Like if you have a glass of water, its falling if you move but not because the bed is bouncy but bc the abortion of the foam is concetrated like the pure foam beds you see. It is very comfortable once you adjust, id say it feels slightly cooler than my old bed, definitely cooler than a pure foam if you have had one or currently have one. Bed isnt loud and only has a slight springy noise if you move off it, other than that this is a really great mattress and works wonderfully. ... show more

I was pleasantly surprised by this mattress. I got two of them for my guest rooms and decided to spend a few nights on them to see how they were and they were very comfortable. Since I was able to let them fully open as I have my own bed in my room, I let them sit for a full two days with fans on (I heard that circulating air helps the mattress fill out) and once they were to their full height it was ready to sleep on. As I mentioned above, I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable these were considering the price point. It's definitely a value for your money. We got this for a guest bed in our vacation home & it's perfect for what we wanted. For starters, make sure when you open this mattress, you have it in the room you'll be using it in, because it's cumbersome to have to lug around to relocate it. It's very easy to open as long as you follow the enclosed directions. Once you take the final plastic off, it immediately begins to expand. Within two hours, it appeared to be fully decompressed. It's not a soft sided mattress & it's not firm either. Without trying to sound like Goldilocks, the comfortability factor is just right (in my opinion). When one person sits on it, it does feel quite bouncy, but once you're laying flat, it's really comfortable. There wasn't any odor once it was expanded & it seems to be made very well. I bought this mattress for a guest bedroom we are setting up. I was looking for either a hybrid or a full memory foam style mattress, and this one looked pretty good. Opening it up, the quality and construction appeared to be very high quality. When first opened, you can feel the coils. However, as per the instructions, we are letting it fully inflate for at least 24 hours before we set it on the bed frame. Even in the first 5 hours you could visibly see it getting taller and more solid around the top edges. It feels very comfortable now at 18 hours. Though it is described as firm, the memory foam gives way to let you sink into the mattress comfortably. I wouldn't want it to be too loose or squishy. I think this is a good value, and I really appreciate the 10 year warranty and 100 day trial in case I change my mind. ... show more
