    • Very Impressive Watch!

When I opened the box and saw the white leather (looking) box the watch comes in I was impressed, because the box is impressive. The watch is held in place with a big white perforated leather (looking) pillow along with a thick printed manual. This is an impressive watch especially when you first, take it out and get to see how crisp and clean the white markings appear against the black face, get to see the actual size and feel the weight. I have other watches that have white markings against a black background but the way it's done on this watch puts my others to shame, these markings or the method used is truly impressive! The band is impressive as well and looks high quality. I was pretty sure from the pictures that, even though I've had trouble quickly telling the time on some watches, this one should be no problem ... and it isn't, it's very easy. Whenever I pull out the stem of a watch for the first time I can get a pretty good feel for how well it's made and get a good indication if the watch will be durable. I own a dozen watches and the only trouble I've had with any have had to do with the stem. I recently bought a RELIC brand watch and the second time I pulled the stem out .. the stem came out, in my hand and I could have predicted it because the first time I pulled it out if "felt thin and flimsy" and didn't stop solidly at the detent positions for setting date and time. This watches' stem feels thick and sturdy, detented nicely and felt firm but smooth when I pushed it all the way in after setting. The push buttons for the chromometer likewise feel sturdy but smooth and the chronometer operates nicely. I've never had a watch where any metal resides in front of the glass the way the "fingers" that frame the date window does on this one. It really sets this watch apart from all others and I love the look of it. Though the date window is probably the weakest part of the watch, being small, hard to read and, if you ever want to read the date around 3 o'clock you can't because it's covered by the hour hand. I love the band, it looks expensive and is nicely plated. The latch works smoothly and, once latched, feels very secure and even though this watch is no lightweight, I don't have any fears the latch will come undone. This is a beautiful watch and even though it looks complex it really is a pretty basic watch that I expect will hold up well. It's not as heavy as I feared it would be and is very comfortable even over long periods. I'm always careful about scraping my watch against things but because of the size of the face and the plating on the metal, especially that in front of the glass, I will be extra cognizant with this one. If you like the way this looks in the picture and are in the market for a larger watch, one that's easy to read ... you will absolutely love this when you get it in your hands. This watch is beautiful and has a nice build and weight to it the leather band is comfortable but the watch has one flaw. Unless you have the eyes of an eagle seeing the date indicator on the watch is a useless feature. It’s located in an area that makes it very hard to see at a glance. I mean it’s not a breaking point as far as buying the watch though ... show more

This diesel mega chief is a big watch and has some weight to it. I've been watching for a sale on this or the diesel Mr daddy watch. This was incredibly wallet friendly and was well under $100! Besides loving the size, the irredescent face is a showstopper. Very attractive but at the wrong angle or lighting, it can be hard to see. Also others mention the date can be hard to read-100% true!. I took 1 star away(regrettably). The band is definitely long enough and very sturdy and durable feeling. I opted for the black leather band for a perfect fit over removing links from a metal band. It arrived fast and safe albeit in a cheap envelope so thankfully the box diesel(fossil) uses is substantial. Very pleased with my early Christmas gift to myself 😊 ... show more

The k on fell off my watch after 3 months owning it. Be advised I have a collection of watches and wear this maybe once a week. I got a thank you email back from customer service thanking me for my feedback and hope to see me as a customer again in the future. Seriously? O offer to fix or replace the watch. Not impressed with the product or customer service. As it is the watch doesn’t have a light and doesn’t glow. Good luck reading it nevermind trying to take a patients pulse if it’s not a well illuminated room. Horrible experience ... show more
