    • Very Impressive Watch!

When I opened the box and saw the white leather (looking) box the watch comes in I was impressed, because the box is impressive. The watch is held in place with a big white perforated leather (looking) pillow along with a thick printed manual. This is an impressive watch especially when you first, take it out and get to see how crisp and clean the white markings appear against the black face, get to see the actual size and feel the weight. I have other watches that have white markings against a black background but the way it's done on this watch puts my others to shame, these markings or the method used is truly impressive! The band is impressive as well and looks high quality. I was pretty sure from the pictures that, even though I've had trouble quickly telling the time on some watches, this one should be no problem ... and it isn't, it's very easy. Whenever I pull out the stem of a watch for the first time I can get a pretty good feel for how well it's made and get a good indication if the watch will be durable. I own a dozen watches and the only trouble I've had with any have had to do with the stem. I recently bought a RELIC brand watch and the second time I pulled the stem out .. the stem came out, in my hand and I could have predicted it because the first time I pulled it out if "felt thin and flimsy" and didn't stop solidly at the detent positions for setting date and time. This watches' stem feels thick and sturdy, detented nicely and felt firm but smooth when I pushed it all the way in after setting. The push buttons for the chromometer likewise feel sturdy but smooth and the chronometer operates nicely. I've never had a watch where any metal resides in front of the glass the way the "fingers" that frame the date window does on this one. It really sets this watch apart from all others and I love the look of it. Though the date window is probably the weakest part of the watch, being small, hard to read and, if you ever want to read the date around 3 o'clock you can't because it's covered by the hour hand. I love the band, it looks expensive and is nicely plated. The latch works smoothly and, once latched, feels very secure and even though this watch is no lightweight, I don't have any fears the latch will come undone. This is a beautiful watch and even though it looks complex it really is a pretty basic watch that I expect will hold up well. It's not as heavy as I feared it would be and is very comfortable even over long periods. I'm always careful about scraping my watch against things but because of the size of the face and the plating on the metal, especially that in front of the glass, I will be extra cognizant with this one. If you like the way this looks in the picture and are in the market for a larger watch, one that's easy to read ... you will absolutely love this when you get it in your hands. Honestly this is my second diesel watch that I have purchased from Amazon and I’m highly pleased with the quality and style. It’s a big watch in some people’s eyes but to me it is just right! I did have to get a few links taken out due to my preference of a tighter fit on my wrist but after that it made the watch much more secure. The value for the money is incredible! I bought it for 65% off and full price it is basically a $300 watch. For the price I paid I cannot complain due to the authenticity it’s exactly what expected if not better. I recommend buying this watch while it is on discount otherwise it’s a steeper investment than most people are comfortable paying. But even if it is full price and you are comfortable spending $300 then go for it! It would make an excellent gift and will last a lifetime. When wearing it, it doesn’t feel too heavy and has a good weight to it. Goes well with casual and business professional clothes for sure! All in all I’m happy with my purchase and look forward to further purchases in the future however I’m enjoying this particular timepiece for the time being with great satisfaction. ... show more

More than likely I will keep this watch. I've always been a fan of big watches, and this will not disappoint. Its large, robust and certainly makes a statement. Two things that make this not a 5 star review. 1. It doesn't have luminous. Meaning, you cant see the watch face at night due to it doesn't glow. At this price point, you should be able to tell the time at night without pulling out your phone to use the flashlight, and at that point, you would just use you phone for the time. 2. It is almost impossible to read the date. The date is sandwiched between the two bars top and bottom of the date. And the date is unnecessarily small. I love diesel watches and this one might be my favorite. I wanted a gold watch but not one that made me look like an old man. This one is so great because it's modern, over-sized and heavy. Makes you look like a real bad as*. Not recommended for skinny guys or thin wrists.
