I bought this to deter the stray cats from using my new lawn as their toilet. The first night I had the blue light going and was hopefully it was working. Next day I checked my yard and there was cat crap. The next night I turn the blue light off and at 4 in the morning I could see the flashing lights so I ran to the window to see a cat next to the "animal repeller" just checking it out. As I started to write this review I heard a cat outside in my yard and chased it off because this thing does not do its job. I intend to return it. (By the way, it does emit a sound. I can't hear it, but my grandkids do.)

This was easy to set up. Right away it scared my dog off of the lawn, however the rabbits just ignore it. Last night they were having a party on my lawn while the strobe was flashing and the alarm sound was going off. If you are buying this because you have a problem with rabbits, my advice is don't. If you are buying it scare off other animals such as dogs, then it seems to work.

Sturdy design, and does act as a detractor for small animals in the backyard. The motion sensor is quite sensitive, and seems to be set off by things as small as branches moving in the wind. It also took a bit of extra reading to figure out how to turn off the blue strobe light at night so that we don't annoy our neighbors. Other than that, this item does what it is supposed to do!

Since installing this unit two weeks ago we have not had any damage from the roaming herds of deer in our neighborhood. I do not notice the sound on this unit like I have on others. The flashing white LED’s are the only indication that it is working as we turned off the sound alarm in order to not disturb the neighbors. We also turned off the flashing blue light as it was too bright at night and doing so does not affect the functioning of the unit. The range of the unit will vary as sometimes it turns on 10 yards away and sometime not until right next to it. I have not figured this out yet to see if there is reason based upon light level but it seems to require one to be closer in direct sunlight. Overall, me and my plants are happy with this product.

Worked really well, but only lasted three weeks and stopped working. Wish the quality was better. When it did work, it kept all the critters away.

After the initial one did not work and a bit of confusion on the first charge the quick replacement worked perfectly. Needed something to stop an invasion of owner-less cats from using my landscaping rocks as a giant kitty litter almost every night. The proof is in the pudding or in this case gravel as it is left untouched since I installed it. Had to turn off the sound chirp because it was constantly going off throughout the day. The ultrasonic sound cannot be really heard unless you try and listen to it. I’ve tried almost everything else to keep animals off my garden and this is the most low-maintenance and consistent tool for the job. Less mess and stress. Some of my neighbors have been approached me to ask for the name of the product. So there will probably be a few of these in front and backyards all over my neighborhood. I would highly recommend.

It had one job, and it couldn't even do that. There are a few stray cats that wander though the yard. Two different cats at different times walked right up to this, stared at it, then slowly walked away. It didn't scare them away. It did not repel them in any way. The device was on, verified through my cameras. Cats weren't phased. This will be returned or trashed. It was a waste of my money.
