We needed a replacement frame for our futon relatively quickly. By reading others reviews on this, it appeared to be a solid choice. It came quickly and was pretty much what we were looking for... not too inexpensive, solid enough... but nothing over the top fancy.

Really want to love it but hinges bent in less than one month's use. It's in our finished basement so it's not used on a daily basis but has been converted several times into the bed position. Was sad to see that we could no longer get it into the couch position and found the hinges had been bent. On the up side, contacted DHP's web portal about replacement hinges and they were quick to respond. Hope the new ones work but probably won't extend it into the bed anymore which is a disappointment. Not sure if the mattress was the issue, we have the 8 inch DHP mattress which is pretty heavy. ... show more

( My husband did it) We thought we were missing parts so I called the service department and left a message on a Sunday. We actually were not missing parts and had it all put together on Sunday. Anything you ever buy that requires an allen wrench will probably be flimsy. The mattress on this futon is good enough. My son is a heavy set 15 year old and I know he will wear this futon out real soon. The back of it already rubbed out his bedroom wall and the tiny support leg underneath is about to snap on off. Due to desperation, the price for it was okay; but I will be keeping an eye out for a stronger frame. ... show more

Overall not bad for the price. It seems pretty sturdy once fully assembled. The picture is of it with the mattress purchased separately and dressed up. The assembly was not easy. It went smooth for a while. Then we ran into parts that the holes were not threaded for the screws. It was very difficult to get these screws in without cross threading them.
