  • Great sounds
This is a fun device for a guitarist. I purchased one to play / rehearse songs written in open tunings. In my opinion Midi guitar didn’t catch on because it’s not exactly plug and play- I purchased a GraphTech Ghost system; the accuracy is impressive- The Boss sounds included in tge system along with the Cosmos modeling system creates premium sound scapes If you wanna play Buy one of these Im glad I finally did ... show more

  • Boss/Roland for the win!
Fantastic item. I was a little worried that they would release a new model as soon as I purchased this, but after playing around with it for a little while I am sure I will continue to be happy

  • Worth Every Penny!
I play the violin. I have a fretted 5 string Cantini Earphonic which is a midi violin and this is the only synthesizer that will work with that model. The only thing I wish it could do, is to be able to hook up the rest of my other violins too it. I could retrofit them with the separate pickup but it would be a pain to change the pickup out or very costly to purchase the pickup for all of my violins. It has a ton of features and it’s going to take me a long while to get through all of the different tones and effects that it has, but so far I absolutely love it. If you have a midi violin, don’t hesitate! So fun with all the different sounds. ... show more

  • Excellent unit
Excellent unit. I purchased the Roland GR 55 as a replacement for my 15-year-old GR 33. Best engine in my arsenal. I perform as an electric Guitar soloist (no vocals) and I depend on this unit to create voicing other than guitar sounds. Roland did not let me down.

  • Wanted to like it!
Horrible latency on many settings. Mainly the piano sounds. Not even playable. I installed the GK-3 pickup correctly and I know that isn't the issue anyway because I use it on the Antares ATG-1 Autotune Floor Processor which also requires a GK-3 pickup and it works flawlessly. I dug deep into the settings on the GR-55 and had no results. I even spoke with Roland tech support and they had no answers. They basically said it is what it is. The pedal does have some cool sounds, but unfortunately Roland didn't deliver here. ... show more
