I purchased two of these items (one for a lower price on a different website months before, but they ran out of stock). The height is perfect, as we have a very small space but also very low ceilings (88 inches). I knew that I would have enough space to sit underneath (with my bum on the floor or a low pad/pillow), but I was also pleasantly surprised to discover that I can also sit up on top of the bed and not hit my head. I am 5ft1in. My teenage son is also able to sit; I think both above and below the bed. His bed doesn’t really squeak at all, but it is a bit wobbly if he repositions. Mine was also wobbly, but I never felt like it would collapse. My bed had also been up for a few months, so I went back and tightened everything and it doesn’t squeak anymore and barely wobbles. I weigh around 165 lbs. It did take my son and I hours to assemble each one- probably around 3ish hours (probably an hour or so longer for the first bed)? It’s not particularly difficult, just time consuming. I was hoping that we would put together the front and back, or both sides outside and then bring them inside, but that is not an option. You attach the bars that run the length of the bed very early on. The end, where you put the last two kinds of pieces on, can be difficult. It requires you to press *very* hard (both my son and I struggled with this on both beds, and we’re both pretty strong). I’m not sure why the bed is labeled as “silver”, as it definitely seems more like a matte grey to me (which I think looks much better in our home anyway). It’s definitely a pretty decent bed for the price! I spent HOURS over multiple months looking at the pros and cons of many different beds, and settled on this one based on our needs (needs to fit with our ceilings, I wanted to be able to sit up underneath/have ample storage space, I wanted to be able to sit up on top (or at least have enough space to make the bed), I didn’t want it to be wobbly and squeaky, I needed it to be pretty affordable, and I wanted the color to not be ostentatious). I'm 20 and about 110lbs. This is usually a bed for kids but I take care of my grandma, and I sleep in a room that's maybe 10x10 feet max with very low ceilings. I needed something I could sit under, keep my bookshelf under, and just open up the room a bit, but that wouldn't practically hit the ceiling like most loft beds would. This bed works great for me! I can sit underneath it and have made myself a little reading nook, I keep most of my clothes in a set of drawers underneath, and it got me off the futon I was sleeping on before. It does shake, but it doesn't ever feel unstable, I think that's just how it is when you have a metal frame at this height. I'm also not inclined to build things in any way and I put it together by myself when it was 80°. If you're an adult you probably won't feel a very strong desire to use the ladder because it's sized awkwardly for any teen or adult of an average height, so I'd recommend a stool or ottoman of some sort to get on the bed, but it's close enough to the ground that I don't even need to step on anything when getting down. We bought two for our daughters room in order to make more play space for them. The bed is study as it goes, will hold a 130lb woman on it when I need to make the bed. But the metal slats supporting the bed are a thinner more hollow metal which causes some concern as to how long they will hold up. The bed provides the right amount of height for what we are needing and works well to give the kids more floor space just like we wanted. We got this for my step son. He has some behavioral type issues so we curtained off the bottom and put a chair and a few things in there so he can have his own privacy and that has worked well. (He shares a room with my son so privacy isn’t always an option). My husband set it up, it was easy to do.
