The bed itself doesn’t look bad, but poorly made. This bed has a HUGE FLAW though, the bottom of the backboard doesn't allow you to have a box spring with the mattress, if you put both, the mattress over laps at the foot of the bed because it doesn't allow it to rest on the entire box spring because of the backboard. If you try to put the mattress alone, you only have three iron beams going across the bottom to hold up the mattress, This bed requires a box spring although you can’t use one. PSA!! This bed frame DOES NOT come with any matress foundation (aka the wooden/plastic/metal “ribs” that the matress lays on). It only have THREE metal bars supporting the entire matress. You will NEED a box frame to support whatever matress you put on this frame. Factor in at least $90 for a 5-inch Zinus Box frame which is the cheapest option I found on Amazon. Also, make sure that the total thickness of both the box frame and matress combined is 10-inches or less! There is no clearance between the frame and the headboard for anything more than that and your mattress will overhang your box frame and look really bad. If you don’t get a box frame because your matress is already 10-inches thick, you’re screwed. Doesn’t matter how good your mattress is, with only 3 bars supporting it you will have MAJOR dipping in the middle which may lead to serious back pain like it did for me... so factor a visit with your chiro into the price of this product as well.. At the moment I’m stuck with my bed looking like my attached photo cause I have no other alternatives. The seller should disclose all of this in the listing. It’s entirely unfair to have to find out the hard way and suffer financially and physically as a result. ... show more

This is a great bed frame for the price. It is basically a bed frame with a headboard. It is not a platform bed. You will need a base or boxsprings for this to work. I got a piece of plywood and fitted it and protected the 12" mattress and it sits perfectly. It's a stable bed and looks fantastic. Very modern looking and looks more expensive than it is. King size review. Arrives in one large box. Assembly is straightforward and I did it alone. I would highly recommend some blue treadlock for all of the bolts- I’ve assembled furniture like this before and every time the bolts will become loose after a few months. I was super excited to get this for our son. When it arrived the packaging wasn’t great. The headboard came broke in two places. It will still work for us because it was going to be to much of a hassle to return it. Also on of the pieces of metal was bent. That was also okay because as I screwed it in it flatted out!     • Needs a box spring / frame 4” too wide

The frame is about 3-4 inches too wide for a double mattress and there is to platform covering the gap so you just have this big weird gap. Also you NEED a box spring. I used plywood last minute because I was expecting it to have slats or a base but it doesn’t. Also without the box spring the mattress sits awkwardly low in comparison to the head board height. A low profile 5” box spring would be perfect, well except for the weird gap because the frame is awkwardly wide. For $120 can u really complain though? ... show more
