  • Love it
I have read a few reviews saying this track is too short. I agree it would help to have another 2" on it but I had no problems cutting full sheet with it. Since I have a crew cab truck and a trailer, transporting it isn't much of a problem. Its real sweet being able to set a couple tic marks, lay the track down and make a full length rip on sheet goods and be very accurate doing it. Love it..! ... show more

The 102 inch track worked very well when I used it to rip birch plywood for a laundry room shelving project. Produced straight cuts and I had no issue with the length when it came to starting and finishing the cut with the saw. I also used the track saw clamps to provide added stability.

  • Size does matter...
A better solution than joining two smaller ones together. I always ended up getting a little deviation at the joint so I sprung for the longest one Dewalt makes. It is well worth the money - now I get perfect cuts along full sheets of plywood and doors. Also, I was impressed at how this item was packaged...sandwiched between two pieces of wood so it doesn't get bent in transit. ... show more

  • Better than Expected
I recently purchased the 102” track so that I could cut up full sheets of plywood. I was very concerned about the shipping and the accuracy of the track after reading many reviews. To my suprise the track came packaged in a wooden custom made box. It is highly unlikely that it could get damaged on shipment. The track was square and very accurate. Apparently DeWalt go the message about improving their packaging. I am very pleased. ... show more

  • Buy all three!
I read some of the issues, so I purchased all three tracks. This is the only way to go. Once you know how to use the saw and tracks, no problems.

  • not bad...
Having a double sided track is a very nice feature for quickly lining up cuts and works great. No major problems but with the 102" track you do have to be careful with the first and last 6" as one of the slide tension guides in the base of the the saw will leave the track top rail and there is room for lateral movement from of the saw when that happens. It becomes apparent after some use that the splinter guards end up being cut to reflect the available lateral movement of the saw and blade on each end and will be visibly out of line with the rest of the splinter guard which will stay in a straight edge except on the last 6" of each end. Therefore when transferring measurements and making reference marks for cuts, you have to keep the marks around 6-7" away from each end of an 8' cut so that the not straight part of the splinter guard's straight edge doesn't end up on your mark. I usually start the cut with more track overhang so that both guides are engaged at the beginning of the cut and then the end of the cut continues in a straight line, I hope. On critical full length cuts, diagonal full length cuts and cuts on sheet goods larger than 8' long, it's easy to slide the track forward just a bit to keep the tool fully guided through the cut. It's still worth it to have the long track with 2 sides and is easily lined up with precision to an existing cut to obtain nice cuts in 8' sheets. I have considered getting another 59" track and cutting a foot or so from it to tack weld to the 102" track and to have a short track for smaller cuts. For now that would cause a problem for me to fit it into my vehicle where the 102" fits with only a couple of inches to spare. I might also try to figure out how to install a rail guide on each side of the saw's corresponding track groove in the center between the two existing guides. Since I mostly use mine in the field I'm not going to buy a longer track from another brand but for dedicated shop use I'd definitely want a longer track as I make a lot of full length rip cuts. Also, if I had known with certainty that I couldn't set it on my marks once and have 100% confidence in a straight full length rip cut in one pass I would have possibly chosen another option but having this already I'll probably just live with it and make it work until it starts bothering me more than it does now. The fact that a longer track wouldn't fit into my vehicle would also be frustrating in my case, so for me both options have a different set of limitations and fortunately for me I can work more easily with the slightly short for 8' cuts limitation. I'd much rather have this than having to try to keep two tracks joined with a single connector from getting knocked out of alignment. I hope this review is helpful. ... show more

  • DeWalt did their part....just wish UPS wasn't so rough handling packages.
I'd been planning on purchasing a track saw for a while, but was hesitant to purchase online having read more than enough horror stories about damaged tracks. I looked for a big box store near me to purchase the 102" track in hopes of being able to inspect the product before purchase. Good luck with that. None of the stores had any track saw stuff in store, only online purchases that also required shipping. One reviewer noted that DeWalt started shipping tracks in wooden crates, so I decided to roll the dice and purchase the 102" track and the flexvolt saw and 59" combo kit. Purchased on a Monday with a "guaranteed delivery" on Thursday. Thursday the huge box with the combo kit arrives as scheduled in good condition, however no 102" track to be found. Long story short.....the 102" track arrives that Monday leaning on my front door with a quarter of the shipping crate missing. After shouting a few choice expletives I brought the package into the house to inspect the damage. To my surprise the thing didn't have so much as a single blemish on it....and I was fully prepared to send it back given the price I paid for it. I checked it for straightness against an 8 foot AIO clamp I'd been using as a saw guide and it lined up nicely. Finally took the first test cuts once I decided this wasn't going back and have to say that the cuts are flawless. Took two cuts and put the two boards together and they mesh perfect, no bow in the cuts whatsoever. I was pleased to see both sides of the cut were clean with no tear out...even the side that wasn't under the zero clearance rubber. Pretty impressive for the stock blade that came in the kit. 5 stars to DeWalt on a fine product, however i'd give the whole transaction 3 stars when you factor in the cavemen that work at UPS and a missed "guaranteed delivery" date. If DeWalt is reading these reviews its probably a good idea to stay away from MDF as a shipping crate. 1" strips of 1/2" MDF sandwiched between 1/8" MDF board is way to brittle to expect the contents to reach a customer's doorstep in good shape. ... show more
