  • This is one bad a** heavy duty accessory that fits on my Ridgid (or any 1/4" hex drive) impact !!!
Size: 12-Inch
Heavy duty. Typical marketing hype says flex attachment is 12", and it is end to end, but when you insert it you lose 1", so when in fact it's inserted, it actually extends your working length 11". That's important to someone looking at total extensibility / reach. Now the head is designed to mount up to the flex extension directly and lock into place. This extends your working bit out to about 13" at 90°. Both head and flex attachment are magnetized, so you could use the flex extension as a direct extension of your impact or drill, whichever you're using. DeWalt say's it's only to be used with impact power tools, but we all know they're just covering their butt legally and some folks use these attachments in power drills as well as ...God only knows what creative types will come up with. There are two handle attachments included. The 4" with the head mounted to it puts your bit out 5" from the impact tool. It also gives you a nice 4" 4 finger grip to hold it. As well, this setup can be inserted into the flex attachment on the quick if you need to extend it for 1 or 2 items real quick. The second handle in the pic is misleading as it actually has a plastic mount attached to it so you can attach the handle to the back of the head and lock it on. It can not be used with any other attachment. When you insert the head into your impact directly, it gives you the ability to hold the head in place from twisting if your using a socket or bit on something that requires an excessive amount of force, pressure, or torque, or to keep it stable drilling into whatever. The handle itself is threaded and removable so you can screw it into the other side of the handle-head-mount for you lefties, or if you need to invert the bit to work upside down or in an odd position. _My ONE COMPLAINT! -- ARE YOU READING THIS DEWALT ENGINEERS?!? The little strait handle must be unscrewed 1/8" from the mount in order to fasten it to the head, then screwed back in. The head is not perfectly round and it seems the engineers overlooked this. The nub the strait handle screws into is too short to fit the handle at the point it goes on before you turn it to lock it onto the head! Both sides engineers! _DeWalt ENGINEERS need to take this small handle-mount part back to the drawing board. Otherwise a fine accessory. BTW, the head is 1" wide and adds 1.5" to your inserted bit length. The actual horizontal head width is 1.25" fwiw. The flex extension is stout and holds it's position without sagging while your busy doing other stuff. It will be in the same position when you come back to it. Mount the head on it and push the yellow button under the word DeWalt on the side of the flex accessory handle, slide it forward and attach it to the head. Now you have the same 4 finger grip at the end of the flex accessory as you did with the other handle! Like my title says, "This is one bad a** heavy duty accessory that fits my Ridgid (or any 1/4" hex drive) impact !!! " This 4-in-1 is built with commercial grade materials and the professional in mind, but made for all who want it. I only wish I had gotten one years ago! Enjoy... ... show more

  • Way stronger and better than Made in China cheap ones
Size: 12-Inch
These are WAY stronger and better than the cheap made in China stuff on here that is less than 20 bucks. Highly recommend these over wasting money on the others. After doing that twice with the cheap ones decided to try these and is a NIGHT AND DAY difference...

  • Super handy when you need it!!
Size: 12-Inch
Looked cool and I didn’t think I would use it that much. Well the same week I got it I used it. Couldn’t have done the job without it. Got into a tight spot that no other tool would have done!! That right angle attachment is the best!! I highly recommend!!

  • Binds with extensions, fine without. Works w small bits.
Size: 12-Inch
One of the concern with these right angle heads is how various bits fit in. In the image I’ve show 3 lengths that I have. 20mm worth of the bit seats into the head held by magnets. So for the short bits only a tiny amount is visible. Great for super tight space screw work as the head is about 40mm deep. Getting them out - for the mid and long ones no problem. Pull them out. For the short bits there is a hole on the back that you press a rigid small drill bit or small torx or other thin bit of length into - and it pushes out the bit to release it from the internal magnet. Then easy to pull rest of the way out. So no worries on bit removal. The handle , with a collar that snaps onto the head held, is the non-capped one. It has a hex opening that is 8mm or 5/16” in size - so if you need some light duty plastic 8mm hex socket that’s there. Cannot store anything in there as it just slides out again. FUNCTION: The 90degree head rotates pretty smoothly. So it’s great for use by itself on a cordless screwdriver. Once you attach ANY of the extensions , the solid one or the longer flexible one, things can bind up. Likely a combination of the tolerances in the angled gearbox and the tolerances in the extensions. But just hand turning it you can feel it sieze up. Doesn’t turn smoothly. De Walt does label it as for “impact driver” use only , so using a constant torque powered screwdriver or drill are not the designed use case. Maybe that’s it. An impact driver with its hammering action may well be what the flex extensions are for when combined with the angled head. Don’t know and likely won’t know as my use case or to get the 90 for my powered screwdriver driver to get into tight spaces for smaller normal metal bolts , not driving screws into wood. ... show more

  • Awesome Gizmo
Size: 12-Inch
This thing is awesome. It has worked great with my cordless drill for getting into small or confined spaces where I otherwise would have no hope. Get some hex drill bits to go with it and you can drill pilot holes and sink screws into a lot of unusual spaces. Highly recommend!

  • Great for drilling out exhaust manifold bolts.
Size: 12-Inch
I used this tool with stubby hex shank bits to drill out and remove the exhaust manifold bolts on a 2003 5.4 2 valve engine. Time consuming but better than pulling the engine to replace the exhaust manifold studs....bought stainless steel studs and nut to so hopefully this won't happen again.

The versatility of configurations allows you a wide variety of application especially the extended flexible head. As well, I have used and abused it and it keeps ready for more!
