    • These clamps just work!
These clamps are great. You can attach anything to them. And solid? Solid as a rock. I have taken a bunch of power tools that weren't made to sit on a miter stand and adapted them to mount on these clamps -- A large drum sander, a bench top drill with no holes in the base (I drilled some so I could mount it), an old forty pound pipe vise, lots of things. Basically, all of my large power tools are now permanently mounted on these clamps and sit on shelves until they are needed. The clamps have rubber feet so that the tools can sit steadily on shelves and then are easily picked up (because your fingers can fit underneath the tool) for transport to the miter stand. I told my wife we could clamp her crock pot and blender to these clamps and have a work station just like I have in my garage. Didn't fly. But she could! Note that other manufacturers make clamps like this that look the same on the website. They are not the same. You can't mix and match from my experience, if you are trying to save a couple of bucks. ... show more

    • Don't brake release levers!
Don't brake release levers! I did it somehow - fault was mine - but just to one of it and looks that is difficult to buy a spare part for replacement. Not even listed in parts diagram. Even with one release levers broken miter saw seems to be secure on the Miter Saw Stand but to be on save side you have to buy a new set of DW7231 Miter-Saw Workstation Tool Mounting Brackets for $40.00. Not nice from my point of view. Otherwise DW stand and mounting brackets are very good quality and easy to operate. Recommended. In addition: Few days ago I received my second set of DW7231 Miter Saw Mounting Brackets for use with my new Makita 1016L Sliding Miter Saw. Included instruction manual says if you don`t have DeWalt miter saw, you must use ¾" plywood to mount your miter saw". It seems OK but is not. If you add ¾" to height over miter saw stand - supplied with stand work piece support/length stop DW7232 don't extend so much and are to low to support cut wood on the same level as miter saw table. DW7232 max. height is 6" and in my case Makita 1016 = 4 ¼" plus DW7231 = 1 ½" plus plywood ¾" is total 6 1/2. Simple mathematic, isn't It? It would be nice if DeWalt will add half inch or more to height of DW7232 work support to make more people happy including me. Otherwise I like stand, mounting bracket very much but work support which is to low. To make it works I will install 1/4 inch thick 3" x 3" aluminum squares under corners of Makita base instead of 3/4" plywood removing saw rubbers base legs first. With my old Makita 1013 those bracket work OK but a new 1016 needs some addition to be on safe side. ... show more

First off - Let me start by saying - I love you DeWalt! Your quality products enrich my life in so many ways... Mostly by making my life so much easier... I have never been let down by any of your products, ever, and I love you for that... *BTW - I'm in no way sponsored to say that... I'm a full time Craftsman, Woodworker, Metal Worker, and Handyman. I feel compelled to also disclose that I'm also soon to be Inventor of the next Million Dollar Idea.....(at least in my head)..... You know, I live and love all that stuff, but I am also just as passionately a connoisseur of tools. I can be quite fickle with my love, and have courted many different brands in my lifetime. These particular mounting brackets were purchased in an attempt to mount my 13" Ridgid planer on my DeWalt DW723 miter saw stand. I figured that in theory, the 16' span of the stand could easily help me manage and plane down my longer pieces of lumber. Sure as Sh!t, I was right! My ingeneous idea worked like a charm! All I had to do was add a couple of boards to raise the height and account for the larger width, but I was planing (and not complaining) within no time. My next improvement will be to add a pair of DEWALT DW7027 Wide Roller Material Support to the contraption. That will be Nirvana... Anyhow, buy these with confidence.
