  • Best saw every
It was great and I'm a contractor so I loved it

  • Simply the best.
This has everything you want and expect in a high-end expensive saw: DeWalts newest model has terrifying power, accuracy, nicely placed LED light, acceptable weight, good sight lines, blows dust away & long lasting 9amp batteries. Not everyone needs a saw at this price and capability, but if you do, you won't be disappointed. The design of the saw guard allows you to see the blade and your line from both sides. Be sure to verify the accuracy of the shoe markings/alignment 0 deg 45 etc., as soon as you get the saw. Big "D" has been known to ship out of alignment saws and they are not user adjustable. Charger is fast and works fantastic. What could be better: The plastic and rubber will never hold up like the real saws did. Laser line option. The shoes on battery tools seem more fragile than the old corded beasts - maybe my imagination. Bag isn't big enough to hold everything...very tight fit. ... show more

  • This is worth investing in.
If you don't want to deal with saws with wires, this is for you. Practical and easy to use, it's honestly worth investing in this.

  • Mine came with the yellow quick charger
Shipped fast, this was a great deal to me because it has the quick charger which is $130 value, as well as 2 large 9 amp batteries $230 elsewhere, and of course the saw itself which is very powerful. I do roofing and needed more of the large batteries and another quick charger to have more batteries on hand for my dewalt blower which eats batteries super fast. The saw itself is great honestly I really needed the other stuff more but upgrading my saw is a plus and now have my old one as backup. ... show more

  • Best in class but Consider the DCS575 over the DCS578
I am a 30 year carpenter that was never a big fan of Dewalt products. This (DCS578) is my 2nd Flexvolt box saw, the 1st (DCS575) took a fall off a 2nd floor subfloor and was replaced by this more powerful version of their saw. I got to say the extra power of this saw is hardly noticeable over it's predecessor but this one needs the 9ah batteries to last. My old one (DCS575) did great with 6ah batteries would last 3-5 hrs on the job depending on what type of material I was cutting. This new saw(DCS578) lasts about 2-4 hrs with a 9ah battery so the saw weighs more and you need to swap batteries a little more. Overall though it's like having an electric saw without the cord. No other manufacturer compares, which is why even though I was never a big Dewalt fan I keep buying this product. I would prefer the DCS575 version over the DCS578 version it's lighter, batteries last longer, it costs less, and the batteries cost less. I bought the worm drive version and hated it, it's ridiculously heavy and it is not a left hand saw like a typical worm drive, it is a right hand saw that just weighs more. I was able to return it using their 30 day trial return policy but it cost me $50 in postage to return it. ... show more

  • BEAST MODE
Bro!!!! I have the dcs570 so this man right here is definitely a huge upgrade!!! Mad sauce!!!! Ver strong and fast would definitely recommended to a first time saw buyer or someone like me looking for the first upgrade. These saws last a very long time so definitely worth the money! My dcs570 has lasted 5 years so far and is STILL going strong and I use daily at work! I do concrete so we are cutting 2x4s 6 8 and 12s and we are also ripping plywood daily. I do this with my 570 so after getting this new saw makes doing all this seem like we have corded power! Keep in mind I am right handed and I definitely prefer this saw over a worm. My buddy just got a right handed saw and it's very nice but is about 5 to 8 pounds heavier ... show more
