  • Battery power equal to corded model
My husband and I are seniors in our early 70's. We have many battery powered DeWalt tools including drills, sawzall, chain saw, skill saw, lawn mower, etc. Over the years we have learned, sometimes the hard way, to buy only DeWalt power tools because they are well made and dependable. We still have a few corded ones but they seem to just sit on the shelf as the battery powered tools are so much easier to use. No need to have outlets nearby or even electric power! Our latest purchase is the 12" mitre saw. We recently bought mountain top property and are adding a large deck to the travel trailer we have permanently parked there. The new saw is making the job so much easier. We do not have electricity there and are putting all of our battery tools to good use. By the way, my husband has Parkinson's and I have Osteo Arthritis (mostly in my hands). We have not let these problems stop us from fulfilling our dreams. ... show more

  • Great saw but has Ground Fault Breaker issues when used with the 110 Volt adapter.
Great saw. Wow. Except. There is an issue when running on the 110 Volt adapter. It blows GFI breakers, even if the saw is plugged into a non-GFI circuit. After trying different plugs and circuits for an hour or two, I did a Google search and found this is not a new issue. To use the saw, I had to drive to the nearest Big Box store, and buy two 60 Volt batteries at a significantly higher price than Amazon. My house does not have any GFI breakers in the panel and I did not have any issues at home. But the GFI breakers at the job site popped the moment the saw was turned on. For more explanations - Google the issue. My suggestion, don't bother with the 110 adapter. Just go with the two batteries. The batteries last long enough and charge fast enough. ... show more

  • Flawed, but a good saw.
Excellent tool, highly versatile and an all in one saw- miter, compound bevel, and the dual battery/electric power option. My one major complaint is the lack of calibration. The saw doesn’t come out of the box proper calibrated, any in anyway. It isn’t calibrated at a zero straight cut nor at any of the miter cuts, beveled or straight. I had to calibrate the saw multiple times, and occasionally I have to recalibrate it midwork. I was on the fence between this saw and the Festool Kapex. Maybe the price difference comes into play with the calibration needs of the DeWalt. I’m sticking it out with this saw for now. It’s not perfect, but it’s a good saw. ... show more

  • Incredible power, and no cord!!
This tool was my first taste of the flexvolt platform. I had been given a bunch of flexvolt batteries so I opted to purchase the tool only model. I was amazed at the power this saw has while running on just batteries. Because of this tool i have heavily invested in the flexvolt line. The runtime on this saw is also impressive. I usually put both batteries on charge while we eat lunch, with that strategy a set of batteries easily lasts us a full day. When power is available the included adapter easily installs on the tool and gives never ending power. Honestly though, this saw is so powerful on just battery we rarely use the adapter, even when power is available. I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Worth the investment!
Awesome saw. Build quality is excellent and attention to detail with all the little things makes all the difference. When it comes to durability, efficiency and consistency investing a little more money into a quality tool pays off big in the long run. All the capabilities of this saw make it a pleasure to use, one of the greatest is the ability to switch between corded and cordless. Also the functionality of the operation of the saw make it very predictable and comfortable to use. One small detail that also makes this saw fun to use is the light that is casted on the work surface which lights the area sufficiently but also registers a very accurate cut line. Defiantly recommend this saw if your looking for a miter saw. ... show more

  • Warning, this thing is a beast!
man ive cut up a lot of wood in my day, but never as fast or smooth as with this sliding cordless saw. I was homeless building my van out on the street for a bit and couldnt have done it without this.

  • Great saw, and very versatile with power requirements.
Bought this as a upgrade to my old 8 inch, plug in the wall, Craftsman that is approaching 25 years old. I bought this saw to use as a plugin, but wanted to keep it possible to use it in remote areas with no power and use the batteries. Specially when we are building a barn on the back of the property and there isn't power out there yet. I have to say, I am impressed with this saw, it is very powerful, and makes great cuts. ... show more

  • I had a Harbor Freight model before and used it for years. This is much better than the harbor freight.
Love it! I have a workshop I built in the garage. Sometimes I do projects in the basement and it's fantastic to take and use cordless by the walkout basement. Very good cut quality. I had a Harbor Freight model before and used it for years. This is much better than the harbor freight. One thing I didn't like about the HF model is the laser guide would get gummed up from saw dust after a few cuts. This model uses a shadow so nothing can get gummed up! ... show more
