Having borowed a couple different versions of this that made me happy enough to buy one, THIS version (DWS779) falls short enough to make me not happy. The cheep star nobs used to adjust both height and length on the wing supports are really not easy to grab nor placed where easily accessible. The extendable beams themselves are light and sloppily manufactured, and placed genericly where they don't make alignment with the saw pleasant. The stop bar is handed so it only works on one side, etc,etc. I don't like it.

I love this thing! Now I want to cut everything I see and surprisingly have even offered to help others with THEIR projects. The slide is a must and now I consider myself a miter saw snob. You can cut a much wider board without flipping it. No going back to a saw without the slide! The instructions that came with the saw and stand were quite terrible. But if you are buying these items you probably pride yourself with not needing instructions and will promptly throw them away anyway. The Dewalt stand is high quality and rolls really well. One criticism is that the saw doesn’t come off of this stand quickly. This isn’t normally an issue but when you need to move this to a friend’s upstairs for a remodel it is a tight fit going up the stairwell. But once you get this thing upstairs, you will make that friend very jealous! The saw comes with a framing blade that is great for rough cuts but you will want a blade with more teeth for a fine cut on finish work, like with that remodel that your friend wants you to help with.

this is a great saw. And it’s probably going to be the last one I would have to buy in my entire lifetime because it’s built very well. However, it is large, bulky and very heavy. So unless you get a stand with wheels, it will never leave your shop. If you are looking for some thing that is portable, this is not for you. If you’re looking for a Great saw in your shop, Then you can’t go wrong with tgis

Well made saw. This one replaces my old one and has several improved features. Stand is very nice but a little hard to close at first (the figuring out part) and taller users at first may feel is should open a inch or two higher. Great value packaged together.

Moved from a noisy old Ryobi chop saw to this beauty and wished I had done it sooner. Besides the great cutting width, first thing you notice is how quiet it is for a power saw. Stock blade is a good one and cuts accurately. Only con is it’s heavy! Definitely not something you want to move from room to room. Love this purchase.

Style: Miter saw w/ blade set (2 pack)
I like it... it’s a big upgrade over my Skill mitre which I’ve now dedicated to only cutting metal. The Dewalt 12” mitre is rock solid, cuts smooth as butter, and the combo kit I bought gave me two extra blades for finishing and ripping rough wood.
