Nothing against Dewalt this is a quality product. On this order two DW8310 discs were sold / shipped by Amazon store. One disc was obviously used and with most of the sanding grit worn off. It was just thrown in the box with no packaging. Sending out used products or someone else’s return is completely unacceptable. However, receiving used or old (discontinued) products is an all too common theme here. In addition, most of the discs sold here do not have the required expiration date stamped on the wheel because they’re not manufactured in the US. Using a grinding wheel is the most dangerous tool. Grinding discs can break apart as the bonding material deteriorates with age which is why they stamp an expiration date. There are enough risks when using cut-off wheels and grinding wheels. I’m not looking to increase those risks in so I won’t use expired abrasive discs. I replaced these by ordering directly from manufacturer and paid the additional shipping. I’ll be doing this with everything but cat litter and other non essential consumables. It’s worth spending a few dollars more to get new. ... show more

    • To expensive for what you get
I didn't know much about flap disks when I bought this but learned fast. This disk was trash after cleaning mill scale off some 2" bar. Found out that zirconia is a medium stringth material and is usless on mill scale. I replaced with ceramic disks that were half the price these are.

This was my first flap disc. I'm surprised at how much manufacturing and "tech" has to go into making one of these gizmos. They're pretty well connected with high quality tech and materials in order to function properly. Dewalt (Black & Decker's commercial grade products) did OK on this one. FYI: Black & Decker = "residential grade" Dewalt = "commercial grade" ... SAME COMPANY! ... show more

Really smooth, nice grinder disc. Much better than those supplied for free with my grinder - which I used first then finished up with this one. I could have done the whole job with just this disk. It has a bit of flex to it which is nice to get into tough areas with high curvature. Definately recommend this disc to anyone. ... show more
