    • My "no-box" theory- and why these don't come with factory boxes.
There are reviews here claiming this is a counterfeit tool based on not receiving the tool in a factory box. I already own one of these 850B tools, so I decided to order another. My original Amazon order came in a factory box with tool and battery. I compared my original 850B with this new one. I can find no discrepancies between them and do believe this is NOT a counterfeit as some claim. All markings and fittings look to be real DeWalt. The fasteners all match as well as size and output of the tool. Why no box? It seems fairly common on other sites (like those that rhyme with Flea) for sellers to buy tool kits that also come with batteries. It is common to see that these sellers split up the kits by selling bare tools separate from the batteries (since batteries are expensive) thus making more money per sale. That's my theory and it is just a guess., but I believe that is what's going on here. So if you are like me, and have plenty of batteries, the "bare tool" sale is beneficial.
