Great charger. Their chargers that come with tools in addition to being slower also get way too hot for my liking. What I like about this one is not only is it MUCH faster but it’s FAN COOLED. FYI their 8 amp charger is being or has been discontinued. If you want fast this is it. It also has some kind of tech in it to prolong battery life that their 8 amp one doesn’t have.     • Super fast charging.
Fast charging, not in original box, but was wrapped in plastic and all the paperwork was present . You can hear the cooling fan when you’re right next to the charger, few feet away and it’s a non issue.

This is a truly impressive battery charger for the DeWalt battery line. It fast-charges 20V MAX and FLEX-VOLT batteries with a 12 AMP charge rate capability. The batteries are charged very quickly in a two-stage charge protocol, and it has an internal fan to cool both the battery and the charger while doing so. It’s spendy, but worth it. Charges very quickly. Charges 8ah in about 30 min from dead. Not sure why anyone says it’s noisy because I have never noticed it at all. I use it on the jobsite, and have never heard it. I do wish it’d beep, or something when the battery is fully charged. That’d be a convenient feature. ... show more

I am happy that this charger replaces the 3, that I had collected from my Dewalt tools. It is much heavier duty, than the ones that came with my drills, and has a fan, for the battery. While the fan is just something else to wear out, the charger is very fast and protects the battery thermally. It is perfect for the Flex Battery that my latest tool uses. As of writing this review it's the fastest charger you can buy for DeWalt and I'm very impressed. It's built with the usual DeWalt high quality. It'll charge my completely drained 15 amp hour flex volt battery in a little over an hour, 12 amp hour flexible batteries in an hour or less, and 9 amp hour flexible batteries in 45 minutes or less. Those are the three biggest batteries so anything smaller than those you're talking less than 30 minutes to charge. The unit comes with a built-in fan, is a lightweight and has a small footprint. Value for the money will be different for everyone but if you're a contractor who uses and needs your DeWalt battery is charged this item is invaluable. Yes it's a little expensive for a charger but there's nothing else out there like it. A good buy and would recommend. ... show more
