I am a mechanical engineer and I routinely use regular electric drills and other machines. This is my first time purchasing and using an impact driver and all I can say about the quality of the tool and the batteries is that, this is the best tool any customer can buy. The design of the product is exceptional. The impact driver is light weight yet very powerful, effective and fast. By controlling how much pressure we put at the trigger - speed of the impact-driver can be controlled for providing accurate results on difficult surfaces. The batteries are feather-light weight and last a very long time (compared to similar mah batteries of Ryobi) and they do not discharge at all if left for weeks. I have used it to hang curtains on difficult surfaces, to put together furniture and install surveillance cameras outside the house and I didn’t even charge the battery when I received the package. One thing I’d recommend anyone buying this is to purchase only impact-ready screwdrivers and drill bits - all bits must have hex-shank for any applications with impact drivers. If you use drill bits with variable shanks/base-diameters then you’ll require to purchase an additional drill-chuck (to be put at the mouth of the impact-driver so you can insert variable-base-diameter drill-bits and tighten the chuck accordingly). However, usage of any such drill-chucks will not only reduce the efficiency/effectiveness of the drilling operation but also defeat the purpose of using light-weight beast such as an impact driver. ... show more

Very happy with my new driver. Very light, but don't let that fool you. It' has PLENTY of torque to do any job and the battery has very good life and run-time. You just cannot go wrong with DeWalt products and this one is no exception. An excellent tool for the pro or the home handyman.

This 1/4 inch drill is powerful and easy to use. The 3 lights are bright and extremely handy even when used in broad daylight. The batteries charge fairly quickly and last a long time. I am a 72 year old woman and I live alone and use this drill for so many things. My old drill was heavy and worked well but this drill is shaped for my hand perfectly. My neighbor used it and he said he loved it as well. This is a great drill for the price. I highly recommend it. ... show more

I bought this for around the house and I use it a lot. Works great I am pleased I bought it. It has made my life easier especially since I’m aging and my hands are weaker. I find this easy to handle and use for extended periods of time.

I actually bought this impact driver for my son-in-law as I have the exact same one I bought on a Black Friday sale last year. Love it! Bought the 20v drill (not brushless) about 3-4 years ago also on a Black Friday sale. While I have always used a drill (many corded variable speed ones, a prior cordless, and recently the DeWalt 20v) to drive screws the heads would tend to strip out if I was not super careful. With this impact driver, that is not a problem even with the usual/more common Philips (+) heads. Only real problem is that if I'm too aggressive (harder wood/metal, did not pilot) the screw may snap off which can be a pain. With the drill and this impact driver I am AMAZED how long one of the smallest batteries (1.x ah - 2 ah) lasts - forever (I'm just a homeowner so if you're a contractor you may need a higher ah battery to get your job done). Bottom line, use the drill for drilling, this driver for driving. Both DeWalt 20v and both nice tools and welcome additions to my tool box. ... show more
