Dewalt quality speaks for itself. I have never had a Dewalt product that did not perform as claimed. This first impact driver makes me regret all those years of sore wrist and stripped screws. With this driver, I was able to drive a whole bunch of 3-in stainless steel screws into a hard, treated-wood marine dock in no time at all -- without drilling pilot holes! Conventional wisdom advises that impact drivers are designed for driving screws whereas a common electric screwdriver should be used for drilling. But I am not going to carry another tool in my tool bag, so I bought a Dewalt "impact ready" drill set. To this non-professional, the impact driver is just as good for drilling, and easier to use. An icing on the cake is that the tool bag in this package is labeled "Made in U.S.A with global materials." ... show more

I've now bought several of these, with this unit purchased thru Amazon, and previous buys thru the orange big box store. The DeWalt impact drivers are the best on the market. Only step up to the 888 model if you're in a large team and need the Bluetooth connect feature for tracking. In terms of power, the 887 is exactly the same product as 888. The 887 and 888 are both MAX XR Brushless for long runtime on battery, with matching torque, speed selectors, etc. I often use these impact drivers interchangeably with drills, as both tools can perform many of the same functions. Great tools from DeWalt! No complaints! ... show more

I purchased this to use on the stabilizers on my PopUp Camper. Great time saver! I can lower/raise the stabilizers in second in stead of minutes. Getting older so a back saver too. Only downfall is the noise, kind of like being in the pits at a Nascar race while changing tires. Not the fault of the drill, just the nature of the beast. Don't do this during quiet time at a campground. Otherwise, a big thumbs up! ... show more
