Buy this it’s the highest rated 3/4 inch electric gun. I use for semi lug nuts and does great. Only downside is with so much torque in a pistol it can be a little hard on the wrists over time. This paired great with my Snapon sockets and works wonders on large nuts.i took this gun apart to see how it all works and it’s got a very large planetary gear set and was well greased I am very pleased with the quality of this tool. ... show more

When that V-Tec kicks in it's a beast. Got this to remove semi truck lug nuts and drivetrain bolts. Does it with ease even on lugs put on with 1" guns. Hard to imagine a use case where you need more power. It's Heavy, the head is huge, but does the job.

Let's start with the first thing you'll notice with the 3/4" DCF964, the size & weight. Coming in over 8lbs, before you slap a battery on it, this impact wrench is a beast. Compared to the 1/2" compact DCF921, which is under 2.5lbs, it seems a little ridiculous. However, if you're doing mechanical work, as I do in agriculture, you'll find the power necessary. This is a nice kit, and the price is right, especially being so close to the bare tool. The PowerStack battery here helps save weight, while having more power than the non-PowerStack 5AH variety. Also, this unit has an oil resistant case, which is not something that is easy to find in PowerStack, and if you do, you'll pay a 300% premium. The charger is the common 4amp unit (no fan, no fast charge) and not a surprise at this price point. Better than the older 1.25amp, and to be honest, I use the 4amp more than I use my 8amp Fast Charger (for battery life). The settings are useful. The full breaking torque for removal is available on all of them, and tightening torque can be controlled by the number levels. Setting 1, at 500lb-ft, was perfect for double checking that I had properly torqued all of the 33mm lug nuts on my semi (450-500lf-ft). I used a torque wrench first, then buzzed back over, in bolt pattern, to ensure I hadn't skipped any. The photos included show the 3/4" DCF964 next to a 1/2" DCF921. I have a 1/2" to 3/4" adapter, and still used the DCF921 to spin the lug nuts on. I've also use the latter to break free large cap bolts on a baler, tightened to 250lb-ft. Both have their uses. One thing I will mention, I read a person in a review hoping DeWalt would improve the hammering system. This does seem to be a weakness. I've run the DCF921 for a few minutes at a time to loosen stuck fasteners. The DCF964 started to make crunchy sounds after a few tough lug nuts. Once it cooled down, the noise seemed to go away. Hopefully this doesn't become an issue. Might want to grab that tool warranty when you buy the DCF964. Highly recommend this kit, with the cycle time/overheating caveat. ... show more

This impact is an absolute beast. I watched several videos prior to purchase, and this 3/4 DeWalt is outstanding. It removed lugs from my F-350 effortlessly. I was so impressed, I also purchased the same impact in the 1/2 in drive.
