  • "SHEET METAL MASTER" VERY PLEASED!!!!!!!
Color: Yellow / Black
I Do sheet metal work I just received this product And let me tell you It is a awesome wonderful bandsaw It cuts through all thread Unistrut And any other Metal such as quarter inch plate like butter It's well-balanced And with the work I do HVAC and Sheet Metal It is a perfect addition to my DeWalt cordless tools The wall is all I've ever used in my line of work And I was hesitant on this bandsaw at first until I watched a few videos and read some reviews It's beefy and built very well Very tough and has a Pretty bright light That shines on what you're cutting And it's not just limited to my trade of work but I recommend this tool to Anybody in the construction field whether that be electrical, Pipe fitting, or HVAC work I also have found that You can buy a finer tooth blade such as the 24 TPI and it will cut Small wood trim also LOL, (I'm a jack of all trades but Master at sheet metal LOL) Nevertheless if you're looking for a good Cordless band saw This is the one to buy especially if you already have 20 volt Dewalt products In addition to that You also don't have to use the thicker 3 4 or 5 amp batteries A one and a half amp Or 2 Amp 20 volt battery will last all day, And did I say it does cut like butter LOL I'm still so pumped about this new addition To my DeWalt collection Happy toy hunting Tradesman Hope this review helps!!!! ... show more

  • Best Dewalt tool ever.
Color: Yellow / Black
This is my favorite Dewalt tool. It has so many uses. I always find myself picking it up to cut just about everything. I do a lot of metal work, welding and fabrication. This is 100 times better than an angle grinder.

  • Incredible.
Color: Yellow / Black
I've used a lot of band saws in my 27 years as an electrician. If you've used an electric one you know how heavy and cumbersome they can be and you better have the material strapped down in a chain vise. I had recently updated all my battery tools to the 20V Dewalt system, but at that time they hadn't come out with bandsaw yet. When I seen it was available it was a no-brainer purchase. I've been using it for about two months and this thing is nothing short of Awesome. I cut Unistrut and rigid pipe without an problem and it is light enough to hold it with one hand while doing so. It cuts straight and fast and I am able to control the unit with one hand while holding the material in the other, no chain vise needed. What else could you want!......Oh I know, Made in the USA like some of Dewalts impact drivers and drills are now :) .....Yes this unit for now is made in China ... show more

  • Drop tested
Color: Yellow / Black
The second day I had this on a job site I dropped it off a boom lift. It fell 12-15 feet to concrete. I was pissed not thinking it could have survived it. Finished what I was doing and went down to at least claim the battery for my other tools. Picked it up and didn't see any damage. Popped the battery back in (it came out on impact) and pulled the trigger. Worked fine. Looked it over and there was only a scuff on the black housing around the blade. Cuts through conduit like it's nothing. And, compared to other port-a-bands I've used: easiest straight cut I've come across. 20ft in the air holding a stick of EMT (at an angle, because I'm in a lift) in one hand and the saw in the other with a mini in my mouth? Straight cut like I did it on a tripod. Highly recommend the metal guard for the blade. Amazon doesn't carry it. I had to order it into a DeWalt dealer in town. Makes it nearly stupid proof if your finger doesn't get the memo that much of what you don't see when it's in the operating position is sharp metal and motors. ... show more

  • I am biased towards makita and dewalt I am invested in both batteries
Color: Yellow / Black
Great tool for the price. It can help you make a job like cutting surface mounted wire molding a lot easier.

  • Broke after 3 years of light use
Color: Yellow / Black
I like using this saw alot except for the expense of replacing blades which don't last too long before they break or loose a few teeth. It is easy to handle with one hand while you hold your work with the other and great for cutting metal and wood small enough to fit between the guides. For cuting emt or copper plumbing pipe I score it with a pipe cutter so the blade will follow the score mark otherwise it is difficult to get a precise 90 degree cut. The big advantage of this saw is that it leaves almost no burr on copper or steel pipe, unlike a hand pipe cutter with a cutting wheel. I have used the saw lightly meaning a few cuts on average once a week and it lasted me 3 years before it made a grinding noise and then seized up. I sent it to Dewalt for repairs with an estimate for repairs at about 1/2 the replacement cost. I will update my review at some point in the future to let everyone know how the repair holds up. Overall I really like the saw but I dock one star for not being more reliable and for the high cost of blade replacement. I think I have gone through at least 15 blades since I purchased the saw. I am now using a Milwaukee battery powered pipe cutter on copper pipe ( leaves a burr) but I found a pencil size deburring tool with a small offset blade on the end that makes quick work of deburring the cut. Time wise it is about the same but the Milwaukee tool gets into tighter spots on existing plumbing systems so overall it is a better single solution for plumbing copper but not as versatile for cutting other things. ... show more

  • THROAT DEPTH
Color: Yellow / Black
July 16, 2020... It rocks. Using a Dewalt 24 TPI bandsaw blade (if it matters). It cuts through a lot more than pipe. You can cut thick hard metal with it. Very useful for someone who hates metalworking but needs to do it occasionally. Some situations where an abrasive cut off wheel is no longer necessary, the portable bandsaw takes a fraction of the time. Made a stand for it. Original review... The cut capacity is NOT the stated 2 1/2 inches. It is a maximum of 2 3/8 inches. The throat depth is no more than 2 3/8 inches. So if you want this for general metal cutting like flat bar, you will be limited to less than 2 3/8 inches (or twice that if you pull it out and flip it over). You can slice the end off of anything that isn't too tall, the blade angle allows for that. ... show more
