There are lots of DEWALT drills that look similar but this is a small powerhouse!. Brushless motor with huge torque to take on the toughest tasks yet it is light and well balanced. Awesome compact impact driver. Great trigger and speed control. Feels good in the hand and works great for it's stated power, it's the same as the more expensive hydraulic version. Not as small as the atomic series but pretty close, and it has a metal housing ring. The batteries and charger are fine so you can swap when one runs low, however you will want a 5Ah or bigger if you are doing a lot of heavy stuff. The bag is fine too. ... show more

    • New Power stack battery, high performance driver
If you are in the DeWalt product family, this model is a powerful driver. I recently built a backyard deck using a set of 10 year old DeWalt screw driver and batteries. I should really have purchased this first. Driving construction screws into wood requires some grunt, and even though the screw box said pilot holes were not necessary, I found it necessary. If I had this first, I might not have needed to pilot hole. The drill starts off quiet, sort of weak sounding... But once it gets resistance, this tool puts the hammer down! It's loud, powerful, and just what you need for longer screws, such as 5" without a pilot hole. I don't think it's appropriate for delicate use, but it will now be my go to for construction and projects where I need to move quickly and get work done. I'll keep using my old drill for hanging curtain rods hangers and cabinet hinges with small screws. You can quickly change out the 1/4" bits by sliding the collar and the bit flies out. You can use a sleeve accessory such as a screw guide with a short bit, or maybe a longer magnetic bit. Make sure you use appropriate bits and screws. This tool can scrape the coating off of a deck screw if the bit isn't completely snug or is the wrong size. I purchased a compatible DeWalt bit set to make sure everything runs smooth. The set has hex for the construction screws, square for Kregg and various other flat and Philips sizes. The Power stack battery works as expected, and seems a little lighter and thinner than my older batteries. ... show more

The product arrived quickly and was adequately packaged. I really like this DCF845 model. I previously worked with the DCF887 for about four years, and it never let me down. It was a tough impact driver that handled heavy-duty work and helped me complete many projects. Now that I’ve tried the DCF845, I can say it feels more compact, and the motor runs more smoothly compared to the DCF887. The LED lights are brighter and have a cooler white tone. I hope its durability matches or surpasses that of the DCF887. Overall, this feels like a solid improvement over the previous model. ... show more

    • Great tool to have
Works so great I bought one for work and one for the house. I have large hands and it has a comfortable and secure grip. It Has an easy reverse switch and adjustable torque setting. It can snap off smaller bolts so you need to get use to the torque.
