  • Disturbing religious nonsense!
Works just fine, better then my 3ah battery. However, the seller “DISCOUNTTOOLMALL” added some religious nonsense in with my packaging. On the back side of a card that had return instructions was some bible verses mixed with wht looks like perosonal opinion. The added religious material was unprofessional and disturbing. ... show more

  • Fits the 20v blower (DCB720)
Significantly heavier, wider, and taller than the 3 aH battery (DCB203) yet still fits the DeWalt 20v Max Blower (DCBL720). I was worried because stock photos show the 5 aH battery (DCB205) being quite the snug fit in the blower's battery cage. I'll update this review after some use.

  • Amazing!
Most amazing battery ever. Lasts a lot longer than expected and my story below explains better as to why I needed it. I was impacted in the Northern California Public Safety Shutoffs by PG&E leaving us in the dark for days at a time. I have to sleep with a fan and we refuse to run the generators all night just for fans. I bought the Dewalt battery operated fan because it was highly rated and with my dad being in construction we have so many Dewalt Batteries and chargers its unreal. However I ran into the issue of the batteries dying in the middle of the night which would wake me up and force me to put another one on leaving me wide awake when I had work. I purchased the battery because I had read it's the best not only for tools but the fan would run for 10 hours on high. Let me tell you that it did and it even did it even longer than 10 hours on high it was more like 15 hours. When our power was restored after 6 days we are no using the fan to push air down the hallway to warm it since we have a fire box in the living room. On medium low it ran for over 24 hours. My dad swears its the best battery hes ever seen in his life and he looks forward to using it for his saw and screw gun. He will be getting one for christmas. ... show more

  • Lots of power
This is a big battery that holds a lot of power. It is great for bigger tasks, such as powering a reciprocating saw for a long time. If you occasionally drill a hole or two, it is overkill. The biggest issue is weight: this battery is heavy. I have used it with my random orbit sander, and the battery is heavier than the tool. This can be a little difficult to control, but worth it when I have to spend an hour or more sanding (this battery will not last an hour of continuous use - I still need to swap out batteries). If you use power-hungry tools like powerful saws, or are using a lighter tool like a sander but for a longer period of time, this battery is worth having. Otherwise, probably not. The only issue I have with it is price. But the newer power tool batteries are all expensive regardless of brand. Milwaukee and Mikita are guilty of this, too. But you also get far better quality and life than off-brand batteries. AvE and Project Farm on YouTube go into detail, testing and tearing apart these batteries. You really do get better-quality cells when you buy a DeWalt v the generic brand. Some of the knock-offs also save cost by omitting some of the safety circuitry, such as the parts that shut it down if the battery overheats (which can be lethal with Lithium ion that close to your body). ... show more

  • Insurance
What do I mean "insurance"? I have several smaller DEWALT batteries as well as several larger generic batteries. But there are pros and cons to the generic ones and who knows how long they will last, right? If you own a DEWALT saw either circular or reciprocating or any other high draining tool, then I recommend buying this as a back up so that if there is a time you need to have it, you got it. It's like a four-wheel drive truck. How many times do you use the four-wheel drive mechanism? Not much mainly in the winter if you live where they get snow like I do. But when you need that extra traction, BAMM, it's there. The same principle applies here folks. If you need the extra juice, you got it. Tractor Supply sells the 5.0 ah for $159.00 dollars so this is a bargain for $120 bucks! The second picture shows that it arrived with one bar of juice. The second picture shows full bars after a successful charge on a generic DEWALT charger that can be purchased on Amazon. Isn't life great? Navy boy ... show more

  • The BEAST!!
If you are on the fence on this purchase I may help make up your mind. If you all have is the impact, drill, light, etc. I’d pass and stick with the lighter 2ah batteries. But if you have the reciprocating saw, or some other work horse of a tool, you NEED this! I went through 4 2ah batteries cutting 2” PVC approximately 30 cuts all together. I killed all my batteries on that job then right after all my jobs sucked because I had no impact, light, etc. doing HVAC work. ... show more

  • Good quality as expected, extended life. Excellent customer care
Update 03/30/2020. DeWalt came through with replacing the battery. 5 days after I contacted them online about this issue they replaced the battery no questions asked. This is why I will always stick with them. This is the best customer care experience I've had. Update 03/26/2020 After about 30 charge/discharge cycles the battery won't hold a charge for more than a couple of minutes after it's taken off the charger. It shows 3 bars as soon as it's taken off the charger (charger says fully charged, red light continuously on) but if I use it for more than a couple seconds on any tool and then check again, the battery level drops to 1 bar and then it doesn't lights up again after a few more minutes of sitting around. It looks like there's something wrong with the cells and they only hold a surface charge that tricks the charger into thinking it's full when it's actually not. The battery has been used with a dcb906 drill and a leaf blower. Not impressed. As always a decent product from DW. Runs my DeWalt blower for 18 minutes, the drill for a few hours. Nothing to complain about here ... show more
