Cool LCD sunshade, it installs quickly and easily it even holds own tool need for tightening with a magnet which assures it's there each time you need it and hopefully helps you don't lose it. You can clearly see your screen when it is completely extended, this was the only position my Canon EOS T6 screen was clear. It did not provide a clear image in any other position. Moves up, down, left, right to align it to screen. perfectly. Cups your eye well and is soft as well as flexible enough so it does not bug or irritate your eye. Down sides are that there is a gap that is left on top of the screen when tightened. The strap that it comes with when installed gets in the way as you collapse it to store. Viewfinder can occasionally slide left or right getting in way of buttons and loses alignment to screen. Finally, you have to remove the plate and shade cover when you change battery or card. I got this screen cover so that when I take pictures out in the bright sun mid-day, I can see the screen. For example, just went out to white sands dunes to shoot graduation pics and this sunshade was helpful in providing clear images all day. While it has some small issues, price is reasonable, and it does what you need it to do. ... show more

This is a review of the JJC Detachable Camera LCD Viewfinder, with an ASIN of B0BV23XKXR. Short version (TL;DR) - Negatives: Lens can easily pop out. Bad for eyeglass use. No anti-fall studs on Arca plate. Positives: Works well. Sets up easily. Arca plate is clever. Long version … In general, this does just what you’d want it to do, provided you’re careful and aren’t trying to use it with glasses. Negatives: * Lens Pops Out - likely the biggest weakness of this product, the lens can easily pop out of the eyepiece. It’s only secured by a small slot in the silicone, which doesn’t retain it very well. Obviously, losing the lens would have a significantly negative impact on how useful this can be. Personally, I may try adding some glue to the edge. * Bad for Eyeglasses - the eyecup doesn’t work well with glasses, nor is it set up so that it can be folded back to a flat opening. * No Anti-Fall Studs - while the Arca plate is quite nice in other regards, it’s notably lacking anti-fall studs. Frankly, it’s the first plate I’ve ever encountered that’s without them. Positives: * Works Well - in short, it does what it’s supposed to do, as long as you’re careful. * Sets Up Easily - the assembly sets up just by attaching the Arca plate, with vertical adjustment via two screws on the sides. The whole process takes maybe a minute, if that. * Clever Arca Plate - despite the lack of anti-fall studs, the Arca plate is generally quite well designed and well made. The machining is quite good, the sprung slot which holds the eyepiece is just right, and it even has a magnetically-secured screwdriver that lives in a recess on the underside. In conclusion, it’s a functional option, but, due to its shortcomings, I consider it a 3 star product. ... show more

I really wish I’d had one of these years ago. This Jinjiacheng LCD screen magnifier isn’t a perfect replacement for an actual EVF, but it did provide a usable approximation on my DSLR. The fit isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty close, considering that my camera isn’t one of the models listed in the description as being compatible. A slightly greater adjustment range might have made it perfect. Regarding optical quality of the 3X magnifying lens, it’s adequate, being pretty much what is expected at this price point. I found it to be a definite improvement, compared to the bare screen. Doubly-so in bright sunlight. Again, not the equivalent of a true EVF, but a workable substitute. The only things preventing five stars are the limited physical adjustment range, missing end-stops on the plate and lack of lens focus adjustability. Even so, a solid four stars earned. ... show more

    • Excellent build quality but not functional if you need glasses or have a full-sized pro camera.

This detachable LCD viewfinder hood is very well designed and manufactured but it has some shortcomings. The biggest shortcoming (design flaw) for me is that you can't adjust the eyepiece distance from the LCD screen to precisely focus on the LCD screen. It is set at an unadjustable fixed distance. The unit is only made for people with perfect vision, who can focus at close distances, and who don't need glasses. For the image in the viewfinder to be sharp for me while wearing reading glasses, the lens inside the hood would need to be an additional 1" away from the LCD screen and if I take my glasses off, it needs to 1½" away for me to achieve sharp focus. That makes this hood unusable for me. The other shortcoming (another design flaw in my opinion) is that you can't adjust the hood's height so that it can work with full size professional cameras that have a grip on the side with a battery compartment underneath such as the new Nikon Z9. Those cameras are too tall and this hood can't even come close to getting high enough to see the screen. And the last complaint I have is the very weak spring tension that holds the hood onto the mounting plate. The hood is designed to be detachable whereby it simply slides in and out of a channel along the top ridge of the mounting plate. Inside this channel are two pieces of spring-steel that are supposed to hold the hood in place until you are ready to slide it off. These pieces of spring-steel don't push hard enough against the hood and therefore the hood isn't tightly held in the channel. A locking thumbscrew would be a good thing for the manufacturer to add as well as adjusting the spring steel to exert more force. All in all it is a quality hood that will hopefully get some design improvements to solve its shortcomings. ... show more
