This is a head strap with adjustments and a battery, for the Meta Quest 3. Here I am comparing it with the Quest's included strap. I usually use the Quest with a power bank in my pocket and a cable to the headset. This has the problem of my hands running into the connector, and I'm worried about damaging the USB port on the Quest. This strap eliminates that problem, at the expense of putting the battery weight on my head. Installation: you have to remove the included strap, and then the two sides of the battery strap slide onto the side rails of the Quest. This was not particularly easy to install. To avoid applying force to any part of the Quest that isn't a solid piece of plastic, you have to inch each side forward one at a time until both are fully installed. It is not a perfect fit. Once you do that, you can plug in and use the headset. I played some Red Matter 2 sitting, and did the zap the aliens mixed reality demo from First Steps. The battery strap definitely adds weight, and I at first felt more pressure on my face. After a while I got used to that. The adjustments are comfortable and you can get a good fit and a clear picture. If the Quest is not properly aligned with your eyes the peripheral vision can be blurry, and I did not have that problem with this strap. The main thing you feel, after getting used to it, is that if you turn your head rapidly, the weight at the back of your head is noticeable. However, that is unavoidable if you're going to have a big battery on your head. The alternative is a wire in the way as mentioned above. Even running RM2, which is a power hog, the headset's internal battery held at 75%, so this strap can deliver enough power. The strap's battery charges at up to 30 watts from an Anker USB-C PD/PPS charger. It is possible to turn off the power from the strap by double-clicking the button, but sometimes this did not work, and you can only disconnect the headset USB cable if you do not want your Quest fully charged to 100%. The Quest holds at 75% if powered while in use. If the strap is left on with the headset off, the headset will charge to 100%, and I'd rather not wear out the headset internal battery. If you want to use the headset for a while with no wire in the way, this battery strap is a good way to do that. ... show more

This head ser checks all of my blocks. It's comfortable, light weight, and comes with a battery built in. I believe I looked at every available headset on Amazon. I purchased three and returned two.
