First, I would like to say I am sorry that you need to use this and hopefully it is just temporary. Second, this product works really well at filling cavities/tooth holes until dentist can help. It last for about a week with normal wear and brushing. I don't like the tool, I just use it to get the putty out and then I use my clean finger. It doesn't taste good and horrible if you get it on your tongue because taste ans texture. Sealing is with water like it says is very important.

DenTek has 100% came through when I couldn't get to the dentist in time! Be sure that you mouth is somewhat wet, I am not sure why but having it a little moist helps the DenTek harden up and stay secure where it needs to! Another tip is to NOT eat or drink for 3 hours at least ... this also helps it stay in place! I actually prefer to do it at night after showering/brushing my teeth because I go straight to bed and there is no temptation to eat!

I recently had an onlay made and had temporary filling. I was told by dentist if some of the temporary fell out to refill the tooth with Den Tek. Molding this to your existing tooth is a bit tricky and it does take a while to dry, but my biggest problem is that this stuff is not nearly as strong as the stuff my dentist used. Even with me not eating on the side with my temporary filling I would find big chunks of the Den Tek break off, so I was repairing the tooth 2-3 times a day. I guess in a pinch this stuff does work, but I would say this is a very temporary solution.

This product is so lacking in every way. The material is crumbly and impossible to work with, the tool included is insufficient and it doesn’t work at all! I have a dental background and this is a worthless product! I tried as directed and tried various other ways even mixing in a bit of water, it just kept crumbling and would not adhere to the crown or the rough surface of the tooth! Be forewarned!

I promised myself I wouldn't ramble in this review as much as my mind wants to. Let me start by saying if there a list of the Top 20 Greatest Products in history--DenTek Temparin would be on that list. And I'm not exaggerating. I could spend 2 hours explaining the details why, but let me just tell you what you need to know: - If you have missing fillings or chipped/broken teeth, and having been waiting to get it repaired and noticed sensitivity, pain, scratched gums scratched tongue-- this is what you want to buy - The reason it is so wonderful is because if used correctly, it can ACT AS A (SOFT) REAL FILLING to reduce pain and protect the exposed parts of your teeth! - It has to be used/applied correctly, or results will diminished I believe I've near perfected the application process, here are my steps: 1. (Optional) I know it's bad but I used a clean nail file gently to smooth out the sharp portions of the chipped/missing filling tooth, you dont have to, but maybe something to consider 2. GENTLY brush/floss/rinse with mouthwash until your mouth is very clean 3. Rinse with cold salt water on the affected area you want to apply to, rinse with clean cold water, rinse with cold salt water, rinse with clean cold water 4. Using paper towels or gauze or whatever you can find, you have to COMPLETELY DRY the surface spot where you want to apply to (it cannot be moist or wet in any way!) I did this by drying it repeatedly with paper towels, using a blow dryer for a few seconds, then paper towels 5. Cut out just a little larger chunk of the paste to apply than the size of the hole/gap being filled--AGAIN MAKE SURE THE SURFACE IS COMPLETELY DRY 6. Gently smash the paste into the center of the DRY surface on the tooth and using clean dry fingers gently press and shape and mold the paste like a filling would be, trying not to press too hard 7. Continue to shape, but using paper towels gently, while using a toothpick to gently scrape away the excess paste from other teeth/gums, blow dryer for a few seconds if you can tolerate it, paper towel again, and repeat unti dry 8. Rinse mouth multiple times with clean cold water When you want to take it out, just gently take a toothpick and "pry" at the paste around the edges of the contact point, what should happen is it will pop right out cleanly in the shape of the missing tooth piece! Done! My mouth feels so much better and now I don't have to suffer 4 more days until my dentist appointment. Thank you DenTek!!!!

If you have crowns, fillings or a root canal in your future, I highly suggest you keep this on hand. I had a root canal and had a temporary filling. My sister suggested I get this product, so glad I did! The temporary filling came out and then a few days later my crown came off! I had an appointment with my dentist in 2 weeks! It completely saved my butt. I was able to put the crown and the filling back until I could see my dentist.

Not a lot of choices but it does work temporarily. And even longer if you keep re-applying when comes off. Follow instructions. Look for YouTube tutorial—best one is less than 2 mins. Make sure tooth is clean and dry before you apply. Hard to believe in something so inexpensive but it works but only as long as you would guess for the price, and there’s nothing else out there except getting to dentist asap.
