  • The Clone wars have begun
Just buy this why they are still available if you're looking for a killer Dumble, SRV, 70's-Now blues tones! The build quality on this is robust, the case is solid and painted up nice. Knobs are on point and feel good and the pots are of good quality. I opened up the pedal to get to internals and it's all there like the original. This one does have a bit of a different flavor and i can only assume that's because DemonFx used different components than what was available... this is not a big deal breaker for me. Compared side by side with my Bandmates original from Kingtone, the original had a bit more EQ to its sound, but otherwise I'd say your 90% of the original in this money saving Clone. Soundwise this thing can do transparent overdrive to crunch with ease, it will also do distortion on the edge and even some almost metal tones. But if you're looking to blues up and rock them solos all the way to Stevie Ray town then this pedal in front of your Fender/Peavey/Marshall will make Ya sound REALLY good! I tested this thing on its own directly into my interface too and it was quiet and responsive . Can't beat this price point !! Go buy one why they still are around! I support both original designer and the Clone manufacturer, Clones are a necessary part of the music industry and with these pedals being not exact replicas that makes them clones and not knockoffs or trademark infringements. If I had endless money and time to wait of course i would want the original .... But this DemonFx company is on point to be the new go to for all your clone pedal needs. I also bought the Freeman ODX plus by them and both these pedals have become permanent fixtures on my board. UPDATE: 4/1/23 This pedal is still kicking with no problems whatsoever and has become one of the mainstays on my board! If your looking to save money and time, this is an awesome alternative to the KOT one. My hats off to DemonFx for making some pretty decents products. ... show more

  • Second time's the charm
I tried earlier to buy the Demonfx dual gun pedal, but it was lost in transit from China. Recently tried again, with shipment from Texas, and got it yesterday. This pedal claims to give the luscious sponginess of Stevie Ray Vaughn's tone on the right side, and the classic Bluesbreaker tones of Eric Clapton when he was on the John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers' Beano album. I am mostly a bedroom player anymore, and I have a collection of amps, both tube and solid state. I saw YouTube videos where some great players got fantastic tones with this pedal through Boss Katana amps. I bought on the strength of the tones I was hearing thru my earphones. This pedal is wonderfully tweakable with volume and tone pots, as well as switches on both sides for fat/stock/and glass tones. I ran it into a Bugera V5 amp, which is tube driven, but notoriously lacking in tone tweakability. Well, the pedal is a fantastic preamp for a low budget amplifier. Using intuitive knobs and switches you can instantly experiment with different tone settings on both sides of the pedal to optimize it for your guitar and amp combination. I put the Bugera on its worst setting, 0.1 watt of attenuated output, and the pedal made it sing a very low volume. And, the tones (SRV and Clapton In A Box) are every bit as great as expected, even without tweaking the internal dip switches. If you're into blues and classic rock, this pedal could be a UREKA purchase for you, as it was for me! This pedal scratches an itch that I though could only be satisfied by a Cornerstone Gladio, a $400 pedal. The DualGun has more than satisfied that itch with fantastic tweakability that makes it not just a dual overdrive, but also a very versatile preamp pedal. Great stuff! ... show more

  • Great Overdrive Pedal
Well built stomp box. I had a Duellist, and I loved it but I just felt so guilty owning such an expensive boutique pedal. I only play at home. I've also owned the other Duellist clone, the Lyr-pedal. I read all the reviews on the Duelgun that I could find. When it went on sale I decided to get one. I have to say, it's a real decent pedal. I don't think it totally nails the sound and feel of a real Duellist, but it definitely comes way closer than the Lyr-pedal. Just in my opinion. I actually really like this overdrive. You can't beat the price for a duel overdrive pedal. I saw pictures online of the inside but I was really impressed upon opening it. I sure looks like it's all hand wired, just like the original Duellist. The Lyr-pedal looked hand wired too, but the Duelgun seems better built, neater solder joints and just overall a more professional look. I was pleasantly surprised with this pedal and I would absolutely recommend. I will for sure be keeping this pedal and it will be staying on my pedal board. Just get one. You need it. I promise, it has some sweet tones just waiting for you. UPDATE: After spending some time with this pedal, I like it even more than I previously did. It actually might sound closer to the real Duellist than I originally thought. The Heavy-Hand side of the pedal is my favorite, and it was my favorite on the Duellist too. It really does provide a "transparent" tone, depending how the amp is set up. If the amp is dialed in on a clean-ish sound and you engage the Heavy-Hand side, it's surprisingly clean and clear. But what I really love about both the Duellist and the Duelgun is the outstanding overdriven tones tones that the Heavy-Hand hand puts out. The string singer side is no slouch either. It rivals most other overdrives including a tube screamer. Using both sides together are an added bonus and they stack nicely. I've been through numerous overdrive pedals, dozens and dozens, and this one is excellent. ... show more

  • Whole lotta range
I cannot afford expensive pedals - or rather, at my level, I don't think I can justify the expense. So, I am not comparing this pedal to the original one that this one is (heavily) inspired by. Fun pedal, wide range that gets even wider when stacking the effects. Do not miss out on the opportunity to open the back and access the inner switches for even more fun! ... show more
