  • Impressive!
The packaging was fine. The system was sturdily put together, so no damage. This setup works very well with RHEL. Putting in an extra SATA III SSD makes this a dual-booting dream. No Win11 support, but this is a GREAT Windows 10 install. No bloat. Make sure to update the AMD drivers! I received an Intel i7-2600 CPU. The listing is a little vague about that, which is confusing. This CPU has aged surprisingly well. It's pretty much on-par with 10th gen i5s I've used and I haven't yet run into a CPU bottleneck. The heatsink on this thing is CHUBBY, blowing cool air out the exhaust under rendering/gaming loads. The motherboard can support up to an Intel i7-3770k if you'd like a little more punch. Everything came pretty much as advertised. The hard drive works fine and passes S.M.A.R.T. tests, although GNOME Disk Tool said it had been spinning for 10 years. The 16 gigabytes of RAM promised are all there. The WIFI adapter works well enough to wait for a better one to come thru the mail. Easy, cheap fix. USB 2.0 only, but for most media (music, movies, ROMs) these work great with external drives to add even more storage. There are 4 USB ports on the front tho, the listing photo shows only 2 ports. The GPU is the highlight here. The RX 550 128-bit 4gb still slaps despite it's age. Coming from Intel iGPU (UHD 630) it's a trip to use this thing. Most of the big games I like are a little older so I barely have to dive into settings anymore. Risk of Rain 2, Skyrim: SE, Souls games, Halo: MCC, XCOM 2, Noita, Civ6. So I'm not playing the most intensive games. It works very well for what I like. This system even runs Davinci Resolve surprisingly well. I wouldn't dive into Fusion very deeply, but render times are speedy and it barely hitches when scrubbing even 6k RAW. Performance takes a small hit when coloring, but that's expected. I'm impressed. SKYTECH snipped at the right corners to offer iGPU gamers their ticket to discrete graphics gaming on a budget. Nvidia would like you to believe you need to earn 100k per year to game on PC. This 300 dollar tower gets you two feet in the door and a path forward. All I did was get better WIFI and slap an extra SSD and the experience is even better. With a few more upgrades, this thing can turn into an absolute BEAST, for surprisingly little. I even got a follow-up message from SKYTECH to see if I needed technical support. It was probably automated, but that's an appreciated detail. I'm very happy with my purchase and I think others looking to move on from iGPU gaming will too. • Defective upon arrival
Was supposed to be my son's main Christmas present. Plugged it in out of the box, and there was a loud noise coming from the hard drive fan, and accompanied by an error message when booting up: "Alert! Hard Drive fan failure." Disappointing...

  • Love it, great product
it was the best price-quality ratio on amazon, I got it considering I'd upgrade it shortly after anyways but it's been with me for 2 years now, very low noise, runs the sims (modded), roblox, Stardew valley and Minecraft without issues

  • Be prepared to spend about 6-8hrs getting this to work
tl;dr review: Buy a good usb WIFI dongle separately or have somewhere to set it up with ethernet, and set aside 6-8 hours to devote to updating windows/drivers. If you are prepared for that, it's a decent cheap computer. For those that are prepared to read: First, let me say that I'm a former IT professional. Aside from having been an admin on large scale windows networks, I used to build a lot of computers for friends and friends of friends. I was probably building 15-20 computers a week, at one point. So, I am familiar with building up and setting up computers. I bought this computer for my kid, as it was an economical first computer for their birthday. I didn't expect it to be fancy or a hardcore gamer rig... However, I did expect it to work out of the box. If they are handling these the way I did, you set up one computer... Then make a disk image. That way you can just use the disk image to install everything in one fell swoop for a bunch of computers. Problem number one, the computer wasn't able to run stable out of the box. Problem number 2, the usb WIFI that's included is useless. Three feet from a WIFI extender (that half a dozen other devices connect to just fine), and it would not connect. I had to grab a usb WIFI from my own computer. It's also 802.11n. The wired connection did work properly. Download speed is important, when you are trying to download and install updates, before you get a "Driver Power State Failure" blue screen of death. So, if you are prepared to deal with that aggravation in order to get a decent cheap computer... This isn't a bad buy. It arrived well packaged and clean. Aside from the dust that was buried in crevices, it looked brand new. No dings or scratches. The keyboard and mouse were cheapo, but work well enough for a kid or until you decide to get something better. My only two real complaints are with regard to the WIFI dongle being useless and having to download so many updates to get it to stop crashing, when I wasn't doing anything more demanding than trying to install updates. In the interest of customer satisfaction, they really need to make a new image disk that includes all of these updates. Not everyone knows that that blue screen means you need to update windows/drivers. Not everyone has an extra WIFI dongle laying around. Not everyone has the background or patience (or time) to sit down for 6-8 hours to make it work. ... show more

  • It's Cheap
I bought this after my older but very powerful computer quit working. I didn't expect much for the price (it is renewed) because it is older. To my surprise it has become a very fast internet surfer and has run well any graphics or games I have played. The only downside is that if you want reliable internet you need to buy a USB antenna for the wireless connection. The one that comes with it is a simple USB adapter that is weak and does not reach out for a connection very well. I also upgraded the 16mb Sdram3 to 32mb. This computer has two available slots for the ram and I put 8mb in each one. Now it runs as fast or faster than my super-duper computer before it. BTW, no bluetooth so if you need on you will have to add that to it also. ... show more
