  • Great bang for the buck, but...
I purchased this to use as TrueNAS server. Unfortunately, the power supply won't handle more than one drive, so ended up have to upgrade that as well. Overall, a good deal if you need a basic PC with Windows10 Pro (included), especially with 16gb RAM, although would run a lot faster with an SSD.

  • Xmas purchase working after rebuilding harddrive.
**update** installed a 1080p/30fps webcam and nvidoa gtx 1030 (budget gpu) and delighted to see how well they perform so far. My son who is awesome at fortnite is playing that game now on this machine and its running quite well! Basically a gaming pc for 320. Power supply is sufficient (290W) for driving the 1030 gpu directly from the pcie slot. **end update** Ok, so I'm a technical buyer. My 12 year old wants to break into gaming pc's so I spec'd this unit based on popular game title's system requirements. For the price, its tough to beat. The unit delivered for Xmas and while wasn't exactly to the prime standard, was still fast at like a week. Boxing was simple, unit was very clean and appears like a new pc case. I was quickly dismayed though as it failed to boot, giving the famed blue screen of death. Long story short, I did a hw diagnostic and the harddrive was the only indication of failure. Oddly enough, I could still see the harddrive so I ended up having to completely erase all partitions and boot up from an external harddrive where I installed a bootable windows repair image. This reinstalled windows entirely and the system has worked great so far. They provided the windows product key as a sticker on the pc case. Ordinarily this would be completely unacceptable and any non-technical person would have had to do a harddrive swap with the company and hope they properly installed windows. Thats a plus and a minus as I dont mind doing that work is the price reflects that. So far its def performing well. Lastly, I dont know much about these, but it comes with a wifi usb stick. It appears to be a 2.0 device so would be slower than others. Its good to get you up and running for web streaming, but anything more than that im not sure yet. Monitor ports are display ports (similar to hdmi but not hdmi so pay attention to that). Im about to install a graphics GPP so will update if any issues. As a technical purchaser, I got what I paid for and half expected, but I might reconsider buying refurbished unless you have patience and or some technical ability. ... show more

  • Great PC But a few things for buyers to know.
Overall the PC has been great, It started Up fine I haven't had any issues with its functionality. Now for the good and bad news. The hard drive in this pc makes some noise, Sounds like the head is failing. I wouldn't trust using the hard drive that comes with this pc if you plan on storing pictures or anything important on it. Now since I can build computers I have plenty of hard drives laying around that I can use so that's not a problem for me. Other then the hard drive the pc also came with a really small dent on the case, Nothing that would effect the functionality of the unit, But obviously someone isn't handling the packages with care. Now for those who want to use this PC for gaming, I Suggest upgrading the PSU to a full modular unit, You will need a adapter for the PSU so you can plug the power into the motherboard, Aswell as upgrading the RAM to something with 1866mhz. This is a DDR3 Board. You will need a GPU cause otherwise you can't play anything other then website games. Overall the PC is great I love the 7020's Always been my favorite PC to make a cheap budget gaming setup that can play pretty much anything with a few $100 into it. ... show more

  • Dell Optiplex 7020 Tower Desktop PC
I received the Dell Optiplex 7020 Tower Desktop PC, and the system was actually in pretty good condition as opposed to other re-furb systems that I have bought in the past. However; I noticed that the unit was loading Windows 10 fairly slowly, so I installed "Crystal Disk Info" and the 2-Terabyte Hitachi Hard Drive is reporting errors on the platter, and will obviously not be reliable for long.!. The Drive's initial run temperature starts at 80 degrees and quickly escalates to around 102+ degrees, and feels very HOT to the touch. Another issue - - - - - - I am unable to create a Backup Image of the Drive; no matter what I try, the system reports an error message. The total Drive usage is around 120 Gigs, but will NOT backup onto a 500-GB, 1-Terabyte, or even my 4-Terabyte NAS Server.. Don't ever expect a perfect refurbished system, Iv'e bought about 5 or 6 from amazon, and have various issues with every one of them.!. ... show more

  • Great tech support and great value
I ordered this Optiplex 7020 to add a graphics card later down the road. This computer comes with an i5-4590 CPU with Intel HD 4600 integrated graphics, 2TB of storage, and 16GB of RAM. It's an outstanding value to come with all of those specs, and with a keyboard and mouse, for just $200. This computer is great for upgradeability because it has a PCI-E 16x slot on the motherboard, so it can use any graphics card and it can take up to 32GB of RAM! Soon, I will be putting an MSI GTX 1650 Super in it. The 1650 Super is a 4GB GDDR6X card that can handle 2020 titles with above 60 FPS on max settings on 1080p. It's the max that you can really put in these old systems, it's the best card that you can put in it without getting bottlenecked, and it has a low enough power draw for the 290w PSU. If you try to reach for more power, you will be bottlenecked by the 4th gen i5. If you get this card or any other card tht requires external power, you will need a SATA to 6-pin adapter because the PSU doesn't have a 6-pin for the graphics card. I would suggest getting another keyboard and mouse if you care a lot about your peripherals because the ones included leave a lot to be desired. They aren't horrible, but they aren't the best and someone who cares about the feeling of their keyboard will not like it. ... show more
