I needed a laptop with more RAM, not necessarily the latest and greatest. No touch screen, but I have a HDMI port for zooming, an Ethernet port for hooking up directly with my internet provider for troubleshooting my wifi, SD card reader for my husband's deer camera, which I can use my HDMI port to hook up to the TV, DVD read/write drive and earbud connection. Not to mention the 8 gig ram of memory. Plenty of hard drive for storage, i only used 130 G in my last laptop. Very Sturdy. My last laptop had to be replaced because it was coming apart at the hinges. No worries here. It is not lightweight, but I had lightweight and it did not last. Love it, love it. Came preloaded with Windows 10. And the price.....was incredible for all these features. When I pulled it out of the box, my husband thought I bought a new one. If the day ever comes that this one needs replacing..2030? I will look at the refurbished ones first by this provider as long as they are listed on Amazon. ... show more

This laptop is awesome! Much better looking in the real than in the add showed. Nice textured black and silver exterior with beveled edges. No issues with the hardware or operating system. Has the built-in DVD player that is very rare to find now. The engineering on this laptop is much better than any of my more expensive late model laptops. runs cool and has a quiet fan. Only bad is that the camera on this one is out of alignment with the case so half the video is chopped. probably came loose in shipping. That's not a show stopper at all as I could just get out the tools and fix it myself but actually I don't use a camera at all anyway. I'd purchase another one just like it but what would I do with two of them? :) ... show more

I bought this refurbished laptop on the recommendation of a friend who works with computers. I was not happy and returned it. The day I received it I was supposed to charge it for 8 hrs prior to using it, but the charger wouldn't connect. I called the refurbishing company and spent almost an hour on the phone trying to get them to replace the charger. They had me take several pictures and videos to show them the problem. They did send me a replacement charger which I received about a week later. I also realized the laptop did not have a built in webcam. I needed that. But I decided I would just purchase a USB cam. The first time I actually used the laptop (other than setting it up) I watched a 90 min movie and after the movie, the laptop needed to be charged, even though it started at 100%. After a couple more uses it would not stay on unless the charger was connected. Hopefully this is not the case with other refurbished products.     • Pretty good for the price
I wanted to replace my aging desktop computer with a laptop, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I basically use it for browsing, email and occasional photo editing so I didn't need anything fancy. This laptop is very nice, but it has a couple of quirks that I haven't been able to figure out. It seems to randomly go into sleep mode and I haven't been able to figure out why. When that happens, I have to wait for it to turn off and then hit the power button and log back in. All my applications are still opened in the same state so it's not a huge deal, which is why I've kept it instead of sending it back. The only other thing I've had trouble with is getting it to talk to my wireless printer/scanner. It prints fine, but the scanner can't seem to find it on the network. My other printer/scanner (for work) connects with no problem so I can use that for now until I figure out the other one. Other than that, everything works great. ... show more

I received a quality, refurbished laptop. My only complaint is that when I factory reset it, I had some issues, with the laptop acting as though it was managed by a third party organization. Other than that, few issues, reliable and I would recommend it personally. This would be a fantastic laptop for work, it makes a subpar gaming laptop that doesn't run big games, but I can run a some PlayStation 3 games on an emulator! Not bad, definitely solid. The only other issue was that this laptop had a battery problem. When not plugged in, and sometimes even when plugged in, the battery will not be detected and the laptop will hibernate. In order to fix this, you have to change the settings for what happens when there's a critical battery notification. So the laptop has to stay plugged in at all times, and I'll occasionally get critical battery warnings. Sometimes it'll show up that there's no battery active. Since I knew a little about computers, this wasn't too much of an issue for me to find a workaround for and live with. I would say that if you don't have much computer knowledge, I might not recommend this because the potential issues you might have might be too much for you to handle. If you are even mildly computer literate or internet savvy and can do research on troubleshooting, then I would definitely recommend this. ... show more

I had originally posted a bad review for the device being crashed upon arrival. I tried the videos and still was unable to recover the windows data. I called Skytech and spoke with "Rose" and she was patient and gave clear intstructions to repair the computer. Her customer service was top notch! It is difficult to get that kind of service today. The computer is working fabulously 1st review..... the device came in an undamaged package with NO bubble wrap or protective insulation. the system is crashed from initial start up. Super disappointed ... show more
