Very disappointed with this purchase and the seller’s customer service. I purchased this Dell Latitude 5501 as an Amazon Renewed laptop in February 2026 for approximately $402. I expected a renewed business laptop to provide reliable service for a reasonable period of time. Unfortunately, after less than five months of normal use, the laptop suddenly stopped booting. I performed Dell’s built-in hardware diagnostics, which reported “Hard Drive - Not Installed.” The BIOS also could not detect the SSD. I reseated the SSD and ran the diagnostics again, but the problem remained. Based on these results, the SSD appears to have failed completely. I contacted the seller, TekRefurbs, to ask for assistance. I understand that their standard Amazon Renewed warranty is limited to 90 days, but I was disappointed that there was no willingness to provide any assistance or goodwill solution despite the laptop failing after such a short period of normal use. The seller also suggested that I contact an extended warranty provider, but I checked my original Amazon order and did not find any extended warranty, SquareTrade, or Asurion protection plan associated with my purchase. I understand that electronic devices can sometimes fail unexpectedly, but a complete storage failure after less than five months is extremely disappointing for a renewed laptop costing over $400. The seller’s response left me feeling that there was very little support once the 90-day period ended. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this seller. I hope future buyers have a better experience, but I believe customers purchasing renewed computers should carefully consider the warranty coverage and potential support after the warranty period expires. ... show more

Update: I received a new charger cord within a couple days of this review, thank you. I got the computer all set up after about an hour or so and went to plug in the charger and found this. Please send me a new charger, this seems dangerous! I really don’t want to return the whole computer.

Profoundly disappointing. It was a good deal. The laptop arrived in great physical condition. Windows was installed incorrectly and the laptop was an absolute lemon. It had a disabled administrator account and no way to log into it. Clearly there's not enough quality control. I have never been more disappointed with a purchase of a refurbished computer before, and I have purchased scores of computers. Not only would the computer not boot up, but it was literally impossible to get in touch with Support or the company. This is after approximately seven phone calls.
