As another verified purchaser found out, this computer came with Thermo Fisher Scientific proprietary software/firmware still installed . ? Impossible to bypass and boot into Windows 10Pro without a company email/password, even UEFI cannot be configured to bypass. Called Amazon for a return. Wasn't about to spend hours fixing what should have been checked. An obvious hiccup in quality control. Amazon service was very good at making things right. One positive is the computer looks new but an absolute brick otherwise. However: I kept it and decided there may be easy fix. A little Google foo and a couple of software programs later and i was in business in about 2 hours. 1) copy windows 10 from an old computer you will retire unless you intend to buy a new license . 2) make a rescue thumb drive#1 with a good back up program. I used Macrium Reflect(my paid version but there is a free trial version 3) make a backup copy of of the old computer C drive to thumb drive #2 4) place the thumb drives into usb ports of new computer and press [F12] while it tries to boot and select the usb rescue drive listed in the menu. Essential boot files/drivers will load automatically. Then restore the old OS to the new computer. Important Note: you will either a) sacrifice your old computer and transfer the user license b) buy a new Windows license. I found the OEM Windows license in the Dell UEFI using ShowKey Plus(free program ) but it may or may not be accepted even though it was the original install; mine did not. Worked great with the transferred OS anyway. Old computer went to recycle. Be sure to update the Dell software on their website. A whole bunch of them.

When my first received this laptop it was for my wife it was a decent laptop I would say good quality except for the fact that the power supply had exposed wires and after I charged it one time it only charged to 98% once that 98% of the battery was run down it would not charge again so the only way the thing with work is if you had it plugged in. And I wasn't looking forward to trying to buy a replacement battery when I had just purchase this. I would suggest finding a laptop that has a removable battery, also I personally have not had good luck with refurbished items from Amazon. Speed and quality of the laptop itself were very decent. And it was a quality brand compared to a lot of the cheap laptops on here that have unrecognizable names

Laptop arrived when promised and in perfect condition! Since it was recycled/ reconditioned I half expected there to be some flaw, but none that I have found. Easily upgraded to Windows 10, I've had no problems at all using it. The back-lit keyboard works perfectly, just right no matter how dim the room is.

What a disservice by the seller! The laptop came with a corporate windows install. Meaning you had to log in with a thermo fisher scientific account email. If you don't have that you stuck. We ordered this laptop for our trip so we can do some remote work a day before we left. Called Amazon, sent message to seller. No help was offered. So being a computer technician i had to swap the nvme drive to mine and get a win 10 version and install it. I also swapped the memory to max allowed. It took me 7 hours to do the whole new install job from scratch with necessary programs, etc. Spent the whole night with it before the trip, no sleep. Amazon service was nice but helpless. Seller did not respond even 3 days after inquiry! Product runs great as of now but given the sloppy job they do to install something on a product you can't use, none of us can and there is no way to bypass the login, so you have to wipe the system if you can or open the back and swap the drive, is a disservice not knowing that when you receive the product. Now I upgraded as much as possible and the wwan card is on the way plus a wifi ax card so every aspect of the laptop is excellent. The only backdrop is the video card, Intel integrated 620. Not the best for sure but given my 32gb ram it can take plenty from the ram shared. Won't do heavy gaming so that's fine. There is no lag or so coming from the video. The only thing I miss from the laptop is the fingerprint sensor on the power button, optional, and the touchscreen. But for the price, in My case 200 bucks, it is a great product.

This Dell has never been used. It’s in pristine condition. Probably sat boxed in a storage room somewhere. Where else can you get a rugged Latitude model with 16 gig ram , an i5 processor and a fast SDS 512 drive for under $250? If cutting edge $1000 models are your thing for gaming that’s fine but a sturdy Dell that can handle spreadsheets and whatever else you can throw at it is a steal. And I updated it free from Win10 to Win 11!
