  • It's EXACTLY as advertised..
I bought this to replace more or less the exact same model, with the exception my previous one was a refurb from Amazon. Which I paid about the same. It started messing up about 45 days in. But I've used it still for several years or longer. I've had this one now 16 days. So far it's been superb. No glitches at all. Backlit keyboard, touchscreen all work great. Media card reader works great regardless of size of the SD card. The CD/DVD writer works so far on any brand disk I've tried. Memorex, Maxell, Verbatim. Both +R & -R. Plenty of USB inputs and one HDMI. It connects quick via wi-fi to the internet. Same with blue tooth. I use all of my laptops as jukeboxes. So it's important that they can stay connected to my stereo's. That's one thing I have found about this model as well as my other Dell, they both stayed connected with both wi-fi and blue tooth. I have an HP laptop with the same specs, same price range. It's constantly dropping the wi-fi signal and losing blue tooth connectivity. HP makes great printers. I have three. But they can keep their computers. So far I'm loving this Laptop. It takes 30 seconds from the time I press the power button before this Laptop is booted and I'm signed on. Likewise secondary programs boot just as quickly. I checked Best Buy, Dell Inc. , Office Depot, Wal-mart, you name it.. I couldn't find anything with this package configuration at this price level except here on Amazon.. And the biggest thing which is getting almost impossible to find is the optical drive. And I don't want a peripheral drive. So for the buck, this was it. Very happy with the purchase. Very fast multi tasking. Independent sound system sounds great. Key pad is good. Although I use and would recommend a BT mouse.. makes it much faster to use. For me at least. All in all a great buy and value. I would definitely recommend this product. Oh, and the laptop aesthetically is very appealing. Slick and shiny finish. Much easier to keep clean than the Toshibas and HP's with the rougher finishes.. it's also cheaper here than on Dell's own web site. If you have any questions I can answer, ask away. ... show more

  • Pretty good deal.
The description said that this laptop had a DVD writer installed and it does not. Everything else was as stated. I guess I can live without the writer, will have to buy an external one. Kind of a pain. Still it is a good buy and I needed a laptop asap. The keyboard is hard to see at night in regular lamp light. It is much better in daylight. Pretty good tutorials on the changes in Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge. ... show more

  • I like It
This laptop is a huge improvement over my last laptop - an Acer. It has three times the ram and the processor speed is a significant upgrade to what i was working with before. I had forgotten that it is a touchscreen and its not a feature that i need - not sure how often i would use it. The resolution of the screen is excellent. the keyboard is back-lighted and it goes from sleep to wake, in a matter of seconds. the only complaint that i have about this laptop is that i wish the processor was a tad bit faster. ... show more

  • Stay away from Dell Inspiron Laptops
Honestly I'm truly disappointed in this laptop. I'm not surprised though. I have never bought a Dell and this is why. I had a HP that was outdated "7 years old and no problems" so my wife bought this computer as a gift for me. We run a small family landscape business and use it for invoicing and bidding. Stuff like that and this laptop literally from day one sat on a desk plugged into the wall. It never moved EVER. About 2 weeks ago I was doing billing and low battery poped up on the screen. Thought to myself I must of accidentally unplugged it somehow. Looked at the wall and cord all fine. So I pulled the cord out of the computer and plugged it back in to see if I had a bad connection. When I did that I heard a pop sound and the green light on the charger went out. So I pulled the cord back out and then I noticed some black plastic came out with the power plug. I tried plugging it back in with no charging success. The green light would go out almost instantly when I plugged it into the computer. I called Dell and from the very beginning of the phone call It was very horrible. The Dell representative sounded confused and didn't know what to do. So after being on the phone for close to an hour with Dell the representative came up with a solution. I would pay $100 for a one time warranty in home service. So I agreed and they took the $100 out of my account and said that the Dell technician would be at my home within 24 hours. We rapped up the call and I waited. Almost 2 days later I called Dell and asked what was going on and this representative sounded even more confused than the 1st one. He told me that I was miss informed and they don't do one time in home repairs. Keep in mind on their website there's an option for a 1 time in home repair for $100 if your computer is still under warranty. Which mine was. So after all of that I ended up being told by Dell that I would have to send them my computer on my dollar they would diagnose it and then repair it and then send it back to me. It only takes about 15 or more business days. So thats a month in business talk lol. I proceeded to tell Dell I can't wait that long its our only business computer for billing and I was in the middle of billing when it died. Thats why the other representative set it up for 1 time 24 hour repair. Well they told me there was no other way and take it or leave it. So I went to a computer reair shop here locally and it ended up being the internal charging port was broke the motherboard was fried and some other things I can't even pronounce. Paid $600 for the computer brand new. Paid $90 + labor for charging port $450 + labor for the motherboard and over 100 upset clients because they all got hand written bills for May. Thanks Dell your the best NOT will never by Dell again ... show more

  • Great for dual purpose home & work duty!
At such a low price point my expectations weren’t very high, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. The touchscreen isn’t the greatest when compared to the feel and responsiveness of an iPad or standalone tablet, but that’s understandable. I purposely wanted a barebones device so I could install the software I wanted without having to spend tons of time uninstalling nonsense I never needed. The battery life is exceptional and the hardware speed is fantastic. It’s been a great value and a great tool for home and work use. ... show more

  • Good...runs games
Very good laptop. It is not slow and the touch screen is nice. I like that the keyboard is black, it is not hard to see the keyboard like it is on silver keyboards. The dvd slot is nice to have. I bought this for school and it also works great to run the sims 4.
