I’m pretty satisfied with my OptiPlex 5000 i9-12900K, 64GB RAM (DDR4), 4TB NVMe SSD, DisplayPort, HDMI adapter included, Slim DVD-RW, Wi-Fi, BT, USB-C 10GBps, Intel UHD Graphics 770, Windows 11 Pro desktop. It’s amazing how much smaller the full-size desktop box is than my 12-year old Dell desktop. Some configuration details: Don’t expect to be able to slip in your spare NVMe SSD to a “second” motherboard slot. There is another connector, but it does not hold an SSD flat against the motherboard like the system SSD that’s included. I had to buy a $10 expansion card, for a second 2280 size card I had. It immediately worked fine. There appear to be cables and plugs in place for adding two ATAPI devices, but I could not find any spare 12V fan plugs on the motherboard. There are four expansion slots, two V1.0, one V4.0 and one V16.0. If you choose to add a heatsink to the factory SSD, it may interfere with putting a card in one of the V1.0 slots. Using ATAPI cables already in the new machine, I managed to put an old 2.5” SSD in. I used the old 2.5-to-3.5” adapter-frame I had in my old PC, but it was tricky to mount inside the new case. There may be more than one model of blue-plastic dual-2.5”SSD carrier you find with research, so make sure it will fit your Dell case before buying. The i9 processor does not seem to run that hot. The fan has thermostatic control. But the system SSD (Kingston, in mine) approaches 100 degrees F, even after I added a heat sink. The machine comes with a bagged USB-to-WiFi dongle, which I did not need; I use wired Ethernet. I have some doubt whether there is built-in Bluetooth. There is a small built-in speaker for system sounds. The 4-conductor audio plug-in is on the front; I'd prefer it on the back, since I leave it connected to two cheap amplified speakers. ... show more

    • PC had minor issue with set up but happy with purchase
I bought this PC for the large number of USB 2 ports and for the DVD drive. Now working OK but first I had to take it and my Dell monitor to my local PC shop since I could not get any sound out of my new Dell monitor (with speakers) that I also bought. The PC technician had to order a special cable. The correct variety of HDMI cable did not come with the PC for my monitor speakers to work. But the PC does have an internal speaker so that worked OK right out of the box. One annoyance is that I have to restart my PC every time after starting it to get my email. (The PC is lightning fast so the restart only takes a minute or two). I get my email over WIFI so maybe that is the problem. (I was surprised that the WIFI stick that came with it fell apart within a month so I had to buy another one). The PC comes with the current Windows 11 OS already loaded on it so you will get updates for a long time. Speaking of updates - they come now without warning but only take about five minutes. I am happy with the sound I get from the Dell monitor. My previous PC internal speaker had started to crackle and be unusable. ... show more

If I could place a less than zero here I would. We have had this computer for 9 months. It has crashed stating "No Hard drive detected" 4 times in the last month. Looking up support it states it was sold to United Arab Emirates and is Out of Warranty requiring International Support. Do not buy a Computer from Amazon. ... show more

Bought a "NEW" computer just to have it completely stop working after a couple months. Right after the return date had past. SO I try to get warranty support just to find out this "NEW" computers warranty started a year before I bought it because it was originally purchased in saudi arabia and now I have a broken computer less than six months old and I am out of $1,300.
