I decided to keep this dehumidifier in our living room, that’s where we spend most of our time as a family. The space gets a little stuffy in the afternoons especially when the sun comes in through the windows and we’ve had the doors closed for a while. The whole room feels more comfortable. The sound is soft enough that I can keep it on while watching TV or having a conversation and forget it’s even running. The built in light option is a bonus, I sometimes switch it to a soft glow in the evenings when we’re winding down. It adds a bit of ambiance without needing a lamp. Emptying the tank is simple. The first time I pulled it out, I was surprised at how much water it had collected just from one room. The auto shut off is reassuring, because I don’t always think to check it right away. Our garage always smelled damp. I was worried about tools and boxes getting moldy, I set this dehumidifier up in there. Within a week, the smell was reduced, the air doesn’t feel as sticky when I’m working on a project. I appreciate how portable it is. I’ve carried it into the RV when we’ve gone camping, it worked there just as well. The tank holds a surprising amount, the red indicator is helpful because I don’t always think to check it. Once it’s full, it shuts down automatically, which saves me from any accidents. I also used it in the bedroom. The low noise setting was fine, the little light was actually pleasant. I live in the south, so the humidity here is very high throughout the year. Our basement is large and used for storage, but due to the high humidity, it constantly has a musty odor, and cardboard boxes and books are easily dampened.
